Michigan State Spartans Football Tickets Information

Football became a varsity sport at Michigan State University in 1896. The Spartan football program saw its heyday in the 1950's and ‘60s when it was known as “the football factory” under the coaching leadership of Biggie Munn and Duffy Daugherty. The team would win national titles in 1952, 1965, and 1966. Two games stand out in Spartans history. First the “Game of the Century” in 1966 between MSU and Notre Dame, where the teams would tie and share a national championship. Much later in 2006, the Spartans played their annual rivalry game against Northwestern. Michigan State would trail 38-3 in the 3rd quarter and go on to score 38 unanswered points to win the game 41-38, the largest comeback in NCAA history. 2015 Michigan State Season Preview

2013 was a staple year for Sparty. Michigan State finished the season undefeated in the Big 10, and beat a very good Stanford team to win the Spartans first Rose Bowl since 1988. The Spartans lost a large amount of talent to the NFL including quarterback Andre Maxwell, linebackers Denicos Allen, and Max Bullough, and offensive lineman Blake Treadwell and Dan France. Despite all of these departures, the defense looks to be as solid as ever with senior middle linebacker Taiwan Jones and senior free-safety Kurtis Drummond leading the way. Look for Mark Dantonio and company to continue to be one of the toughest teams in the Big 10. A week 2 trip to Eugene to take on Oregon will be one of the top games of the early college football season. Sparty will likely be in the running for another Big 10 championship, and 3 games to look forward to are against Nebraska, Ohio State, and at Penn State to finish the season.

Michigan State Spartans Rivals

Michigan State vs. Michigan

Michigan State trails the Wolverines in the all-time record in the battle for the Paul Bunyan Trophy. Outside of WWII, these two have played each other every year since 1910 and has included a ranked team in 28 of the last 30 contests (the Wolverines, usually). MSU had a surprising four-year winning streak snapped in a 12-10 Michigan win in 2012.

Michigan State vs. Penn State

The battle for the Land Grant Trophy has been an even one over the years, and has included a team ranked in the top 10 in the country nine times. This has been quite the offensive affair since the reintroduction of the game in 1993, with the winning team scoring over 40 points almost ten times. Watch for this rivalry to grow over the upcoming years.

Michigan State in the BCS Championship, Bowl Games, and Big Ten Championship

The Michigan State Spartans have been extremely successful in advancing to post season play making it to more than 20 bowl games in their school history. A past that includes about a half dozen Big Ten Conference Championships is something the Spartans are very proud of, and they will look to add to that number in the coming years. Ticketcity offers tickets to all college football bowl games and the Big 10 Conference Championship Game.

Amazing Experience! Seats were reasonably priced and so close to field. Able to see so many amazing plays by MSU. Son's senior year as Tuba Section Leader and it was great to be there to see Band performances, Zeke, and more! November 24, 2014
MSU/OSU Our seats were amazing... Rick went above and beyond to help us...as always! It's so cool to have my personal, go-to ticket guy! November 11, 2014
MSU/OSU Game The seats were good, there were no problems with the tickets! I have to admit I was nervous, the price we paid was way more than the printed ticket price and they had someone else's name printed on the tickets (although that was explained to me at the time of purchase) I was still a little nervous, but all worked out just fine. I'd purchase from ticketcity again! November 10, 2014
Great seats Getting my tickets for this great game was easy and not painful on my wallet. The seats were great and we had a fantastic time. Thanks Ticketcity! October 6, 2014
