UNLV Rebels Bowl Game Tickets Information

Compared to many of the other programs who have been around for more than a century, the UNLV Rebels are still relatively young on the college football scene. UNLV didn’t start playing football until 1968, and moved into the FBS Division (Division 1) until 1978. After moving to college football’s highest level, UNLV enjoyed immediate success, reaching their first bowl game in 1984. After posting an 11-1 regular season record, the Rebels took on the Toledo Rockets in the 1984 California Bowl. UNLV would dominate the game, winning by a final score of 30-13, bringing home the school’s first bowl victory.

Since that first bowl win, the Rebels have had a few memorable bowl games. In 1994 UNLV would play in their hometown Las Vegas Bowl against the Central Michigan Chippewas. This game would represent the highest point total ever in a bowl game for UNLV. The game was played on December 15th, 1994 and the Rebels dominated the Chippewas by a final score of 52-24. It remains one of the highest scoring Las Vegas Bowls of all time. UNLV would once again play in a bowl game following the 2000 season. The Rebels returned to the Las Vegas bowl, this time taking on the Arkansas Razorbacks. The game marked the highest profile opponent in the history of UNLV bowl games. Once again the Rebels would dominate the game, defeating the Razorbacks by a score of 31-14, proving that no matter who the opponent is, the Rebels are always a tough draw when it comes to the post season.

UNLV athletics has a large and passionate following that is known for making a ton of noise for their team. Whether it is in the California Bowl, or right in town at the Las Vegas Bowl, the Scarlet and Gray travel very well to bowl games and consistently pack the house for Rebels bowl games.
