Saturday, November 01, 2014 at Autzen Stadium (Eugene, OR) Ducks 45, Cardinal 16 The Oregon Ducks kept their College Football Playoff dreams alive against the Cardinal to remain 8-1 on the season. Mariota finished the game with 258 yards, 2 touchdowns, and an interception, which was just his second of the season. The Heisman hopeful kept his name in contention adding 2 rushing touchdowns to his stats in his first win over Stanford. The Cardinal failed to get anything going on offense finding their drives stalling and settling with field goals early and often in the 45-16 loss to the Ducks.
Saturday, November 7, 2013 at Stanford Stadium (Stanford, CA) Cardinals 26, Ducks 20 The Cardinals dominated this one from beginning to end, scoring the first 26 points of the game and holding the Oregon offense scoreless until the last 10 minutes of the entire game. Stanford was led by a ground attack that kept the ball for over 42 minutes of a 60-minute game. Tyler Gaffney ran the ball 45 times for 157 yards and a touchdown, while Cardinal QB Kevin Hogan only had to through the ball 13 times in the win. Oregon star QB Marcus Mariota had some success in the short periods of time that the Ducks actually had the ball, and helped spearhead a comeback that fell a touchdown short. Stanford puts itself in prime position for a trip to the Pac-12 Championship with the win.
Saturday, November 17, 2012 at Autzen Stadium (Eugene, OR) Cardinals 17, Ducks 14 A Jordan Williamson overtime field goal was the difference between these two teams on Saturday night, probably ending #2 Oregon’s chances at a berth in the BCS National Championship game. Stanford improves to 9-2, and if they win next week against UCLA will move on to the Pac-12 championship. Stanford QB Kevin Hogan started off the scored with a rushing TD in the second quarter, and then he through the game-tying TD to Zach Ertz with 1:35 left in the game to push it to overtime. Oregon’s Alejandro Maldonado missed a 41-yard field goal in overtime, so all Stanford needed was to put one through the uprights, which Williamson did. Stanford dominated possession and kept Oregon to 4-of-17 on 3rd down conversions to get the win.
