2008 Arkansas Football Preview:
Head Coach: Bobby Petrino
The Arkansas Razorbacks football program is one of the most exciting and storied programs in college football. The team has had an incredible season of ups and down in 2007 with never a boring moment. With a new coach in Bobby Petrino to replace the embattled yet highly respected Houston Nutt, the team will look to put any controversy behind it and focus on playing football in what is probably the toughest conference in the country, the Southeastern Conference (SEC). Razorback Stadium, and War Memorial Stadium in Little Rock, will be rocking with Arkansas fans this coming season as they cheer on a unified Razorback team to conference glory and a bowl appearance.
The 2008 Arkansas Razorbacks are a brand new team this year, losing several key offensive players from last year's roster. The Razorbacks also lost their head coach, Houston Nutt, who was replaced by Bobby Petrino. Coach Petrino's inaugural season will give him the opportunity to shape an entirely fresh football team, building them as he warms to the program.
The schedule for Arkansas in 2008 is a difficult one, as the Razorbacks will play eight teams that played in bowl games in the 2007 season. Because many of the players that comprised Arkansas' all-star running game last season are gone, Petrino and the boys will have to rely on more passing to keep their offense effective. Watch out for Casey Dick and Jonathan Luigs, veterans who are bound to make some hair-singing plays this season. Get out and see a Razorbacks game this year and give the boys the boost they need to be champions!
