Syracuse Orange Ticket Information

The Syracuse Orange is one of the oldest programs in college football, playing their first season in 1889. The Orange compete in the Atlantic Coast Conference, against the best competition on the East Coast. Syracuse holds one of the most storied histories of any school in the Northeast, including 5 conferences titles, over 700 wins, and the 1959 National Championship. There have been many great players to wear Syracuse’s Orange, White, and Blue. Among them are a stable of running backs as good as any to ever play the game, including Jim Brown, Ernie Davis, and Floyd Little. Orange fans pack the Carrier Dome which earns its nickname “The Loud House” each and every game that is played there. Score with TicketCity - the place to go for Syracuse Orange football tickets.

Syracuse Orange Rivals

Syracuse vs. Boston College

One of the most resilient rivalries in college football, the Orange and Eagles have played each other over 45 times since first meeting in 1924. The two schools were founding members of the Big East, and first conference rivals in football in 1991. After Boston College left for the ACC, the series was continued as a non-conference game until it was announced that Syracuse was joining the ACC. Now renewed as a conference rivalry, this game is promises to be as competitive and intriguing as ever.

Syracuse vs. West Virginia

One of the closest rivalries on the East Coast, these old Big East rivals have been meeting on the gridiron since 1945. The Orange and the Mountaineers play for the right to bring the Ben Schwartzwalder Trophy back to their campus. The series has been played over 55 times, with the Orange holding a slight advantage in wins. With both schools leaving the Big East, the future of the rivalry has been put in jeopardy, with fans from both schools hoping that it is renewed as an non-conference game soon.

Syracuse vs. Penn State

One of the historic rivalries on the East Coast, these two squads are known for having very contentious matchups. The rivalry came to a head in the 50’s and 60’s where legendary head coaches Ben Swartzwalder and Joe Paterno battled in some of the most memorable games of the century. Neither team was able to gain a clear advantage and the competition was so fierce that scuffles were not uncommon. In 2002 the rivalry was renewed and the competition in recent years has been reminiscent of its glory days.

What is the best game day tradition at an Orange home game?

One of the most unique, and unbelievably fun traditions at Syracuse takes place after the game at Varsity Pizza. When the game ends, the marching band heads over to Varsity Pizza and plays a set inside of the restaurant that is always packed wall to wall with Orange fans. This tradition is made even more special after a win, where one of the band members flips the banner of the opposing team upside down to chants of “See Ya.” Yes it is loud inside when the band is playing, but the sheer amount of Orange Pride and jubilation in flipping the banner after a win, makes this tradition one that should be experienced by all Orange fans.
