TCU Horned Frogs Bowl Game Tickets Information

The Horned Frogs first showed up in a bowl game in 1920 where they got blown out 63-7 in the Fort Worth Classic. TCU would have to wait 15 years until they’d be in another bowl game when they made the 1935 Sugar Bowl lead by star quarterback Sammy Baugh. There they’d meet LSU and would win a defensive battle 3-2. That Sugar Bowl victory would help TCU claim their first national championship. Despite a regular season loss to #2 ranked SMU the bowl win help them vault their in state rivals for the championship.

TCU would go on to win another Sugar Bowl and a Cotton Bowl in the 1930s. Their 1938 Sugar Bowl victory over Carnegie Mellon got them their second national championship. The Horned Frogs would make eight more bowl games in the 1940s and 1950s. After their 1965 Sun Bowl loss they wouldn’t make another bowl game until 1984. They’d only make three more bowl games in the 1990s. That all changed when Gary Patterson became the coach. TCU would make 12 bowl games in Patterson’s first 13 seasons as coach. Most notably they defeated Wisconsin in the 2011 Rose Bowl 21-19. Tank Carder deflected away a 2 point conversion with two minutes left in the game. Their win secured TCU’s second undefeated season in school history. TCU finished the season ranked #2 overall.

TCU’s streak of bowl game appearances ended in the 2013 season when they didn’t make a bowl game for the first time in eight seasons. They ended the season with a 4-8 record in one of the worst seasons in of Patterson’s tenure.

Fun, Family and Football The TCU Football experience is unlike any in college football. While some are all about the tailgating and drunk college students, TCU stands out by making an inviting family atmosphere. Even if you are not a football fan pre-game in Frog Alley can not be beat and then having your kids run the field with the Bleacher Creatures. For those who love a good tailgate and a football experience there is no let down there. TCU has ample parking and once in Frog Alley there is tons of food. So, come join us at Amon Carter, wear some purple and GO FROGS!!! September 6, 2010
Riff Ram Bah Zoo The TCU Horned Frogs are an amazing team to watch and they just keep getting better. Attending a game at Carter Stadium is truly an experience - the student and alumni support is incredible, the fans are active, and pretty much every seat is an amazing seat. TCU has it all - big time college football, with small town, family atmosphere. Looking forward to cheering on the Frogs to another amazing football season! August 5, 2010
