Texas A&M Aggies Football Tickets Information

Texas A&M first began competing in 1894. The Aggies joined the Southwest Conference (SWC) in 1915. As of 2007, the Aggies hold 18 conference titles. A&M has also finished with a top 25 national ranking 23 different times. Before moving to the SEC in 2012 the Aggies had two main Big 12 rivalries – with the Texas Longhorns (the Lone Star Showdown) and with the Baylor Bears (Battle of the Brazos). The Texas-Texas A&M rivalry was one of the oldest and most celebrated in college football history. Some of the current Aggies playing or coaching in the NFL include Dante Hall, Shane Lechler, Dat Nguyen, and Sammy Davis. 2014 Texas A&M Season Preview

The Aggies are going into their first SEC season without the best quarterback in the country, and while it’ll be a tough mountain to climb for Texas A&M, they’ll need to make that jump to continue to hang with the elite of the conference. The Aggies went 9-4 and won the Chick-fil-A Bowl in dramatic fashion in 2013, but it was almost all offense that carried them to those 9 wins. The defense will need to step up and be on the same level as the rest of the conference in 2014 if the Aggies are to compete in the vaunted SEC and beat the biggest and best as they did with Manziel. Kenny Hill will likely take over for the Heisman winner, and head coach Kevin Sumlin has high hopes for him. While the Aggies also lost Mike Evans, they do return Malcome Kennedy and Ricky Seals-Jones, and both should be two big targets for Hill down the field. Tra Carson should take over a lot of the touches that went to Ben Malena, so it will be key for him to also get going early in the season. Texas A&M will start the season at South Carolina on Aug. 28 before heading home to Kyle Field to play Lamar the next week. The Aggies are also playing big home games against Ole Miss on Oct. 11 and against LSU on Nov. 27. The key road games of the season include at Alabama on Oct. 18 and at Auburn on Nov. 8.

Texas A&M Aggies Rivals

Highly intermittent yet highly contentious, this rivalry goes back a long way but only recently started up again when A&M moved to the SEC. Both Kyle Field in College Station and Tiger Stadium in Baton Rouge give the home teams a huge advantage, but you can be sure both teams will leave it all on the field every year.

Texas A&M vs. Texas

This game had become a staple to watch for all college football fans, but the game has been put on hold for a while after the Aggies moved to the SEC. The game has been played on Thanksgiving weekend, and beating the other team is a good gauge on whether or not you had a good season. The rivalry goes back far, as does the vitriol on and off the field.

Dating back to the days of the Southwest Conference, A&M’s move to the SEC helped renew the rivalry that dates back to 1903. Now called the “Southwest Classic,” the game will be played in Cowboys Stadium in Arlington for the forseeable future.

Texas A&M in the BCS National Championship, Bowl Games, and SEC Championship

Despite not yet appearing in a BCS National Championship game the “Aggies” have still managed to play in 30 plus Bowl Games winning close to half of those contests. Some would say 1998 was their proudest year as they went 7-1 in conference play on their way to their first and only Big 12 Conference Championship. Ticketcity offers tickets to all college football bowl games and the SEC Conference Championship Game.
