Texas A&M first began competing in 1894. The Aggies joined the Southwest Conference (SWC) in 1915. As of 2007, the Aggies hold 18 conference titles. A&M has also finished with a top 25 national ranking 23 different times. Before moving to the SEC in 2012 the Aggies had two main Big 12 rivalries – with the Texas Longhorns (the Lone Star Showdown) and with the Baylor Bears (Battle of the Brazos). The Texas-Texas A&M rivalry was one of the oldest and most celebrated in college football history. 2014 Texas A&M Season Preview

With one of the most exciting players in all of college football in 2012 Heisman Trophy winner Johnny Manziel, Texas A&M has positioned themselves as of one of the top teams heading into 2013. The sophomore quarterback dazzled the college football world last year and shocked the country with the upset victory at Alabama. However, with the success of last season that ended in a blowout victory over Oklahoma in the Cotton Bowl, expectations have raised. Texas A&M will begin their second season in the SEC and will host the defending champions in Alabama, along with Auburn and Vanderbilt. With Manziel continuing to develop and being the catalyst for the Aggies along with the depth at running back and on the defensive side of the ball, it will not be a surprise if Texas A&M is positioning themselves for a national championship by seasons end.

Texas A&M Aggies Rivals

Highly intermittent yet highly contentious, this rivalry goes back a long way but only recently started up again when A&M moved to the SEC. Both Kyle Field in College Station and Tiger Stadium in Baton Rouge give the home teams a huge advantage, but you can be sure both teams will leave it all on the field every year.

Texas A&M vs. Texas

This game had become a staple to watch for all college football fans, but the game has been put on hold for a while after the Aggies moved to the SEC. The game has been played on Thanksgiving weekend, and beating the other team is a good gauge on whether or not you had a good season. The rivalry goes back far, as does the vitriol on and off the field.

Texas A&M vs. Arkansas

Dating back to the days of the Southwest Conference, A&M’s move to the SEC helped renew the rivalry that dates back to 1903. Now called the “Southwest Classic,” the game will be played in Cowboys Stadium in Arlington for the forseeable future.

Texas A&M in the BCS National Championship, Bowl Games, and SEC Championship

Despite not yet appearing in a BCS National Championship game the “Aggies” have still managed to play in 30 plus Bowl Games winning close to half of those contests. Some would say 1998 was their proudest year as they went 7-1 in conference play on their way to their first and only Big 12 Conference Championship. Ticketcity offers tickets to all college football bowl games and the SEC Conference Championship Game.

Pic of the "Kyle Field" Experience Always a good time watching the Aggies! November 1, 2010
Game Day Experience Twice as Memorable As a child my love for everything Texas A&M grew out of listening to my father talk about the University and attending games with him. I had tunnel vision to be in the Fightin' Texas Aggie Band and march on Kyle Field. I also played football but was only 5' 10" when I graduated from High School. As a member of the Aggie Band and Corp of Cadets I matured both in discipline and physically. Some say I was a late "Bloomer" but I grew 5" in 2 years to 6'3". I maintained my speed and the Corp kept me in tip-top shape. During my Senior year in the band I was playing football with a group of friends on a Sunday when none other than Jackie Sherrill came over and talked to me about walking on. I told him I would only have two years of eligibility and he said "well then we shouldn't waste any time seeing what you got!". Next thing you know I am practicing with Domingo Bryant and Billy Cannon Jr.!!! Now you know why attending a game at Kyle Field is twice as momeorable for this Aggie. September 10, 2010
One word...awesome During my time as a student at A&M, I suffered through one of the darkest periods of A&M athletics. Our football team was mired in mediocrity and our basketball team might as well not have played. My first year there I saw the last year of RC Slocum and the 0-16 basketball team. However, even in that first year, I could see the power of the 12th man. In Oct '02, I had a few friends drive down from Lubbock to see the Tech vs A&M game (aka the 'Welker' game). The Ags ran out of time, but I will never forget my friends' reactions as they walked out of Kyle field tugging on their ears and trying to clean out the roar of the 12th man. They were in awe of the deafening wave of sound generated by the crowd. We may have lost the game, but it left an impression on my friends and on me for that matter. A month later #1 OU came to town for Maroon Out. Once again I was blown away by the crowd and when Kiel made the interception to seal the game, that roar grew even louder. That was it, I was addicted for life for better or worse. September 13, 2010
My Greatest Aggie football Experience! It was the Texas Aggies vs TCU in 1992. As a member of Sq. 13 in the Corps of Cadets, our seniors were selected to be the Officers of the Day for the game. As you can imagine, getting to stand on the sidelines to watch your team in front of 80k+ fans, was going to be an incredible experience. Then came gameday -- a torrential downpour and hurricane class winds. The #4 Aggies showcased their vaunted running game with Greg Hill and Leeland McElroy, beating the Frogs 37-10. Getting to watch that game, in those conditions, from my favorite place on earth, with some of the best friends I'll ever know, was an experience I'll always cherrish. September 10, 2010
