Texas Longhorns Ticket Information

The Texas Longhorns have won over 800 college football games, rank in top 3 winning-est programs of all-time and have four national titles. The Longhorns have had a few different periods of sustained success, but the Horns experienced their greatest success when Darrell Royal was the head coach. Texas won three National Championships during Royal's era - in 1963, 1969 and 1970. Mack Brown coached the Longhorns to their 4th National Title in 2005, which is thought of by many as the greatest college football game of all-time. Two legendary Texas Longhorn running backs have won the Heisman Trophy -- Earl Campbell (1977) and Ricky Williams (1998) while QBs like James Street, Vince Young and Colt McCoy have led the Horns through some great seasons. 2014 Texas Longhorns Season Preview

It was only four years ago that the Texas Longhorns played in the National Championship, but after three straight seasons failing to win 10 games, head coach Mack Brown looks to rebound in 2013. The Longhorns finished the 2012 season at 9-4 overall and 5-4 in the Big 12, but they will be returning 19 starters and expectations are once again high in Austin. The key to the Longhorns season will be the continued development of quarterback David Ash. The junior threw for 2,699 yards and 19 touchdowns in 2012 and the Longhorns have won 10 of the last 13 games he has started.

Texas will also be returning their leading rusher in sophomore Johnathan Gray and their top two receivers Mike Davis and Jaxon Shipley. Mack Brown’s team will face a tough conference schedule again as they host Oklahoma State, travel to TCU and face the Oklahoma Sooners in the Red River Rivalry at the Cotton Bowl in Dallas, Texas.

Texas Longhorns Rivals

Texas vs. Oklahoma

One of the biggest games in all of college football, the Red River Rivalry is played in Dallas at the Cotton Bowl between two of the most storied programs in history. The Longhorn and Sooner faithful are split right down the middle of the stadium as they are surrounded by the State Fair of Texas on all sides of the stadium. It’s a can’t-miss for fans of either team and it’s the most unique setting for a football game in the country.

Texas vs. Texas A&M

This has been one of the most one-sided rivalries over the years (in Texas’s favor), but the game has been put on hold for a while after the Aggies moved to the SEC. The game has been played on Thanksgiving weekend, and beating the other team is a good gauge on whether or not you had a good season. The rivalry goes back far, as does the vitriol on and off the field.

Texas vs. Texas Tech

This is a newer one, though they’ve played each other many times over the years. Texas Tech stung the Longhorns badly in the final seconds of the 2008 contest, ending their hopes for a national title berth. The Horns have mounted big comebacks over the years after falling behind early, making this yearly contest an exciting one.

Texas Longhorns in the BCS Championship, Bowl Games and Big 12 Championship

The Texas Longhorns rank in the top 3 in NCAA All-Time Bowl appearances with more than 50. Without a doubt one of the most recognized college football programs in the nation, The Longhorns annually demonstrate their dominance in the Big 12 Conference, recording multiple Big 12 Championship appearances since joining the league in 1996. They’ve also etched their name into the BCS Championship trophy with a win over USC in the 2005 title game.

Texas Longhorns Event Guide

What is the best place to sit for a Longhorn game at DKR?

Darrell K. Royal Texas Memorial Stadium seats just 100,000 football fans, so there are a lot of options. The lower West sideline (sections 1-8) is commonly referred to as the “Alumni side” and popular with fans looking for a premium seat. The chairback seats in Sections 4-5 are excellent and provide convenient halftime access to the UT Alumni Center across the street. The lower level endzone (sections 13-18) are a great view of the field and the giant HD jumbotron located directly across the field. These seats are some of the best values in DKR. The nicest in-stadium amenities come with the Endzone Club seats (sections 13C-19C) which offer a full food buffet and cash bar. Fans in the Endzone Club are allowed to take a beer or mixed drink to their seat, which is not allowed anywhere else in the stadium.

How can I buy cheap Texas Longhorns tickets?

TicketCity offers a big selection of Texas football tickets which include some of the lowest priced seats on the market. Texas tickets fluctuate based on demand and opponent. Marquee Big 12 opponents, like Oklahoma, Baylor and Oklahoma State, can drive up home game prices. While cheap tickets are more plentiful for unranked, non-conference opponents. Those early season games may offer best opportunity to purchase Texas tickets near face value.

Where can I park around Darrell K Royal Memorial Stadium?

The majority of the lots closest to the stadium are reserved for parking passes. You can purchase a parking pass at TicketCity. There are some pay lots further from the stadium that range in price from $15 on up. On gameday there are a fleet of Pedi cabs (bicycle rickshaws) so fans can catch a ride instead of walking to the stadium. Check out the DKR Event Guide for a detailed Texas Longhorns Game Day parking map.

Where can I find the 2014-2015 Texas Longhorns football schedule?

The Longhorns 2014-2015 football schedule is listed as soon as it is announced by the Big 12. Texas plays in the Big 12, which means games against Oklahoma, Texas Tech, Baylor, Oklahoma State, Kansas State, TCU, West Virginia, Iowa State, and Kansas. Game times are announced by the Big 12 as soon as the TV schedule is set. Texas’s home opener is typically one of the most popular games. They also play Oklahoma in the Red River Rivalry. If you are looking for Longhorns news or scores, then visit our partners at CBS Sports. They are also a good source for the official Texas Longhorns team roster.

What is the best place to eat in Austin before a Longhorn home game?

Austin has a vibrant food scene, so there is truly something to fit every fan. For the best BBQ in Austin try Franklin’s, County Line or the Salt Lick. For Mexican food, try Iron Cactus, Maudie’s, Santa Rita or Matt’s El Rancho. There are lots of good choices down in the “warehouse district” near West 6th street. For pregame food near the stadium, try Scholz Garden (walking distance from DKR) or Cuatros (on UT campus a short drive from stadium).

If you haven't been, you've got to go! Rich in tradition, great football, and not to mention some exceptional tailgating, if you've haven't been to a Texas game, you need to. Enough said. August 5, 2010
UT vs FAU Since UT was on a losing streak, I heard tickets would be dirt cheap. My wife's Bucket List included seeing a UT football game in person. Never having purchased tickets online before, I went to Ticket City's website and without reading any instructions, figured out the seating diagram and associated ticket costs. I chose 2 way less than face-value tickets in the nose-bleed section. Purchasing the tickets was quick and easy and I was able to choose the option to pick up the tickets in person. Later that day, I stopped by the TicketCity offices and obtained the tickets with ease. OMG! My wife was ecstatic and slept with the tickets under her pillow. We went to the game and enjoyed the experience immensely. The weather was awsome, the view of the field was great with binoculars (and the JumboTron!). Later, we moved down the stadium into way more expensive, unoccupied seats and my wife crossed this great experience from her Bucket List. I trust TicketCity and will be a loyal customer! The Best Game Ive Been To, Ever!!!!!!!!!!! I had got the tickets for my dad as a B-Day gift. We have never been. Ive always seen the Red River Rivalry since I was born, but on "TV" only. Nothing beats seeing it in person. From all the stuff that happens before the game, to the kick off, the whole game, and after the game. The state fair and all the food was great. My fav part of it was the Texas Band. They're just awesome. I will be going to more Red River Rivalry games in the future for sure. October 14, 2012
LiveStrong at the Texas-OU game Everything about the weekend in Dallas was great - the city, the State Fair, and the Texas-OU game. I loved the enthusiasm running throughout the stadium, despite the Longhorns losing. After the first quarter, the Cotton Bowl and Livestrong did a really cool promotion, so glad I was in the perfect spot to take pictures! October 4, 2010
