Richardson 11-yard touchdown pass to Bibbs with 28 seconds to go in the fourth. The Longhorns would answer the call on a 3 play, 68-yard drive to set up Nick Rose for the game winning 21-yard field goal to take the lead 48-45 with 3 seconds to spare.

Thursday, October 3, 2013 at Jack Trice Stadium (Ames, IA) Longhorns 31, Cyclones 30 This one was rife with controversy, but it’s the Longhorns taking a win back to Austin after the close Thursday night game. Johnathan Gray looked to have fumbled on a play late in the 4th quarter, which Iowa State recovered and started to run back. It was ruled not a fumble, and then Gray fumbled again on the next play, this time recovering it himself. A few plays later, Case McCoy punched it in from a yard out to take the one-point lead with 51 seconds left. Aaron Wimberly was the big contributor for ISU, racking up 140 total yards and 2 TDs in the loss. Texas is now above .500 for the season, while Iowa State falls to 1-3.

Saturday, November 10, 2012 at DKR Memorial Stadium (Austin, TX) Longhorns 33, Cyclones 7 Texas dominated this one from the very beginning and the Iowa State offense couldn’t get going to match the Longhorns early scoring. Jordan Shipley and Mike Davis combined for 250 receiving yards, and Davis broke the game wide open with a 61-yard TD late in the first quarter. Iowa State looked to get back in it with a Quenton Bundrage TD right before the half, but they were unable to get on the scoreboard again. Texas more than doubled ISU’s 15 first downs and 277 yards in the game, with 31 and 609 of their own. The #17 Longhorns improved to 8-2 on the season while Iowa State falls back to 5-5.
