Saturday, September 21, 2013 at DKR Memorial Stadium (Austin, TX) Longhorns 31, Wildcats 21 Texas came out to a big lead on Saturday night in Austin and never gave it back, handing the Wildcats their second loss of the season while hanging on to their own second win of the 2013 campaign. Kendall Sanders scored a 63-yard TD on a pass from David Ash and Jonathan Gray scampered for a 21-yard run to push the score to 17-0 late in the second quarter. Gray finished with 141 yards rushing and 2 TDs in the win. K-State was able to put some more points on the board in the fourth quarter but by then it was too little, too late.
Saturday, December 1, 2012 at Bill Snyder Stadium (Manhattan, KS) Wildcats 42, Longhorns 24 The #18 Longhorns looked like they would make a game of it early, but sixth-ranked Kansas State scored 28 unanswered points late in the game to seal the win and earn themselves the Big 12 Championship. Texas had three turnovers (which led to 14 Wildcat points) to Kansas State’s one, and Collin Klein rushed for 103 yards and two touchdowns in the win. The Longhorns out-gained the Wildcats and had more first downs, but continually stalled after getting into the K-State side of the field. Texas finishes the regular season at 8-4, while K-State moves to 11-1 and a berth in the BCS Fiesta Bowl.
