Virginia Cavaliers Bowl Game Tickets Information

It took the Virginia Cavaliers almost 100 years to make their 1st appearance in a bowl game, but since then, the Cavaliers have been a consistent presence in the College Football Postseason. Virginia first started playing football in 1888, and although they had some great initial success, the Cavaliers first bowl appearance would not come until the 1984 Peach Bowl. Since then, Virginia has appeared in over 16 bowl games, wining more than 6 of those games.

Virginia has played in some memorable bowl games over the years, but none more memorable than the 1984 Peach Bowl. The game marked the first appearance for the school in a bowl game, and came in one of the most prestigious bowl games in the country. Virginia squared off against a solid Purdue Boilermakers team, but defeated Purdue 27-24 in front of more than 40,000 fans. Another memorable game for Virginia would come in 1991, when the team would play in the Sugar Bowl. This was the Cavaliers first appearance in the Sugar Bowl, and announced the team’s presence among the elite programs in the country. Although Virginia would lose a 1 point game to the Tennessee Volunteers, it remains one of the most successful seasons in Tennessee history. A 3rd memorable game for Virginia came in 1995 when the Cavaliers again played in the Peach Bowl. Coming off a Co-ACC Championship regular season, Virginia would take down a favored Georgia Bulldogs team to finish off the season ranked in the top 25 in the nation.

The Cavaliers have one of the most devout followings in all of College Football and travel very well to bowl games. On more than 4 occasions, Virginia has played in bowl games with attendance higher than 70,000, and the Virginia side of bowl games is always packed. UVA Review :) University of Virginia's football team is an outstanding hard-working team that should be appreicated not for how many games they have won, but for their ambition to never give up, support each other and the university, and striving to reach the potential that they, and we, know they have!
