The story of E Clayton Walker Jr. is something of country music classic. He got his first guitar from Clayton Walker Sr. at age nine, learned to play, and entered some local talent competitions a few years later. It wouldn't be a country music story without a little more work. While still in high school, Walker even found a sympathetic morning DJ to play his tape, but success remained a ways off.

After graduating and working a tire plant, Walker found himself as a house singer in a bar in Beaumont, Texas. It was the early 90s, and the fifth generation of country music was exploding in popularity, lead by the likes of Garth Brooks and Billy Ray Cyrus. Record producer James Stroud heard Walker and signed him to Giant Records.

Stroud produced Walker's self titled debut album, which would be an immediate hit. The album spawned three #1 hits on the Country charts, and went on to be certified platinum. Critics and fans alike loved this addition to the newest generation of country superstars.

His sophomore effort, 1994's If I Could Make a Living, kept the hits coming. Walker added another two #1 hits to his resume, and another platinum album. Momentum on his side, he released Hypnotize the Moon the very next year. The album placed another platinum record on his wall, and another set of hits.

Walker's 1996 diagnosis of multiple sclerosis didn't slow him down much. With the condition treated, he returned to the studio and finished Rumor Has It for release in 1997. The album became his fourth platinum record, and the title track put him back on top of the Country singles chart.

While Walker's pace slowed as the 90s ended, he continued to release a string of albums between 1999 and 2007, culminating in Fall. Each album except 2001's Say No More added at least one more top ten hit for Walker. He opened the next decade with 2010's She Won't Be Lonely Long. That added another top ten finish on the album charts to Walker's long career.

Clay Walker continues to tour and release new albums. Fans are never far away from another tour or new record from their favorite country superstar. Walker's dedication to the stage makes for a great show for any country music fan. Get your tickets to see him today.
