Country music group Lady Antebellum was formed just four years ago, but the act has experienced an incredible amount of success in a short period of time. The trio from Nashville, Tennessee, was quickly nominated for a Best New Artist Grammy in 2009, and won their first Grammy for Best Country Performance by Duo or Group with Vocals in 2010 for their song "Run To You." They continue to be one of the most popular new acts around today, and continue to tour actively.
The group is led by vocalists Charles Kelley and Hillary Scott, who are joined by Dave Haywood on guitar. The three got their start in 2007 when they performed on Jim Brickman's single "Never Alone," and soon gained a following from their self-titled debut album, which was released in the spring of 2008. The album's first single, "Love Don't Live Here," earned a significant amount of airplay on country radio stations, but it was the second song, "Lookin' For A Good Time," which thrust them into the spotlight. The tune climbed to number 11 on the country charts, but was soon eclipsed by the album's third hit, "I Run To You," which made it to the top spot. During their initial run-in with success, Lady Antebellum was the opening act for Martina McBride and used 2008 as a way to springboard to an even more successful 2009.
While the group's first album garnered a lot of attention among country audience, their second album, Need You Now, brought them cross-over success and they earned a great deal of recognition from a wide spectrum of fans. When it the album was released in 2009, it was an immediate success - the title track eventually reached the number one spot on the Hot Adult Contemporary chart, cementing their wide spread appeal. The second single from the album, "American Honey," which pays homage to Scott's youth, hit the airwaves in early 2010 and became their third number one hit on the country charts.
Although Lady Antebellum made waves with their Grammy win earlier this year, their success at the Country Music Association Awards has been even more impressive. In 2009, they won the award for Vocal Group of the Year, which industry legends and fan favorites Rascal Flatts had previously won six years in a row.

Amazing live performers! I saw them in April and they were amazing! They put on a great show and the lead singer even brought an audience member up on stage when she spotted that they were wearing the same dress! It was fun and personable and a truly fabulous experience. I highly recommend seeing them if you have the chance, you won't regret it! August 4, 2010
