RYAN BINGHAM
Ryan Bingham is one of the freshest young voices on the country music scene today, but like many musicians of his genre, it was a long and winding road to stardom. Bingham grew up in rural Texas, lived alone for much of his life and played rodeo gigs in the American southwest, sleeping in his truck and whenever someone would offer a couch to sleep on. It was when he turned 17 that he took up the guitar and began playing gigs at a bar in Stephenville, Texas, where he put together a series of albums that would soon get the attention of Nashville promoters. In 2007, Bingham signed to Lost Highway records and his road to country music supremacy was forged.

Bingham's first album, Mescalito, was a critically-acclaimed effort that allowed the artist to gain more tour dates and build his fan base along the way. The singles, "Southside of Heaven" and "Bread and Water" received consistent airtime on country music stations, and music publications raved about Bingham's raspy delivery and working man attitude that naturally appealed to a country music audience. In 2009, Bingham and his band The Dead Horses unveiled his second album and breakout release, Roadhouse Sun, which would catapult him to mainstream success.

The album received a major boost from additional publicity in the movie, Crazy Heart, as two tracks from the record including "I Don't Know" and "The Weary Kind" played prominent roles in the film. Bingham would even show off his acting chops by appearing as a minor character in the film. While the album only peaked at No. 65 on the Billboard 200 albums chart, "The Weary Kind" would garner Bingham a Golden Globe and an Academy Award for Best Original Song.

Hot off the success of Roadhouse Sun, Ryan Bingham released Junky Star in late 2010, which would prove to be the artist's biggest commercial success yet. The album jumped to No. 19 on the Billboard 200 albums chart, and would also rank well on the rock and country music charts. In 2012, Bingham released Tomorrowland, his fourth studio album and the record would also prove to be a major seller and popular among country music fans. Bingham continues to be one of the biggest voices in country music today, who has come from humble beginnings to become one of the most prominent and respected country musicians around.
