The CMA Music Festival is known as the ultimate country music fan experience, and for good reason! Begun in 1972 in Nashville, Tenn., and known as Fan Fest, the event has seen performances from Johnny Cash to Taylor Swift and is truly the most prominent event in country music. In 2013, the festival will take place at LP Field from June 6-9 and will feature such renowned country music performers like Miranda Lambert, Dierks Bentley, Lady Antebellum, Blake Shelton, Carrie Underwood, Kelly Clarkson, The Band Perry, Brad Paisley and many more over the course of four unforgettable nights.
For country music fans, there are few events that conjure the kind of unrivaled excitement that comes with the CMA Music Festival in Nashville. The event began in 1972 and was originally known as Fan Fest, and was held at the Municipal Auditorium in downtown Nashville, featuring Roy Acuff, Dolly Parton, Tom T. Hall, Loretta Lynn and many other classic country performers. In the ensuing decades, the event has grown to encompass many of the biggest names in country music and combines thrilling live performances with a series of fan-friendly events where attendees can get the opportunity to meet some of their favorite country music stars, get autographs and meet up with artist fan clubs who set up gatherings in the area.
The CMA Music Festival follows a unique format where attendees can choose from a variety of different shows at LP Field or one of the many small-scale performances offered on stages at Riverfront Park. When visitors aren't enjoying a concert from one of their favorite artists or a talented up-and-comer, there are a variety of activities that they can enjoy during their stay. In 2013, the festival will boast the AT&T U-verse Fan Fair X, which offers a series of fun activities. Visitors will be able to meet-and-greet with their favorite country music artists, enjoy plenty of shopping opportunities, view artist and country music artifacts and even check out a few musical performances along the way. The Fan Fair will be held each day at the Music City Center and is always well-attended by concert goers.
Of course, the main draw for just about everyone who comes to the CMA Music Festival is the vast array of musical talent that congregates in Nashville each year. The performances will be spread out over four nights at LP Field and Riverfront Park, and will consist of many of today's hottest country music stars, as well as a bevy of up-and-coming artists who could turn into tomorrow's superstars. This year's lineup includes a slew of amazing performers, including Kelly Clarkson, Luke Bryan, Hunter Hayes, Taylor Swift, Miranda Lambert, Keith Urban, Zac Brown Band, The Band Perry, Blake Shelton and many more. There are few festivals that are able to pull together such an impressive array of talent and give fans a chance to meet their favorite artists, which is why the CMA Music Festival continues to be one of the most well-attended events year after year.
