Lollapalooza is a musical festival that was founded in 1991 by Jane's Addiction lead singer, Perry Farrell. It toured for the first 6 years, but now has settled in Chicago as a 3-day festival after a partnership between Ferrell and Austin-based C3 Presents. Lollapalooza takes place in Grant Park, which is near Lake Michigan in downtown Chicago. The festival typical attracts over 50K music lovers each summer. Throughout the years many famous bands have played on the stages at Lollapalooza and the number of new bands playing the festival grows for the better every year.
The feel of Lollapalooza has changed over the years to reflect a lot of what is popular at that moment in time. The Lollapalooza Music Festival has been held at Grant Park in downtown Chicago since 2005. Previous to that, it was touring through the country.
