This Seattle rock band with members, Eddie Vedder, Stone Gossard, Jeff Ament, Mike McCredy and Matt Cameron, emerged in the midst of the grudge band movement. Their debut album, Ten (named after NBA star Mookie Blaylock’s jersey number), it went gold with singles, “Alive,” “Even Flow” and “Jeremy.” With the bands growing popularity, they wanted to stay loyal to fans. They went head to head with a large ticketing agency and boycotted any venues that had a contract with them, which meant they did not tour in the U.S for three years. With a new album release, Lightening Bolt, Pearl Jam returns to the stage. With sold out venues already, the band is doing a 17-city tour that includes Australia and New Zealand starting in 2013. Pearl Jam does not typically have elaborate stages, or fanfare, just the simplicity of the stage, instruments and the audience singing along in their own explosive way. Let TicketCity, not Pearl Jams nemesis, get you to the concert!
“PJ20 World Tour”
In November of 2011, Pearl Jam did a tour to celebrate their 20-year anniversary; it started with a 2-day event in Alpine Valley WI, and ended in Sao Paulo. Songs heard were from the original band, Mother Love Bone as well as their hits “Alive,” “I Am Mine” and “Animal.” While in Toronto, Neil Diamond, an influencer for the band, came on stage during “Rockin’ The Free World.”
Pearl Jam 2013 Tour
Pearl Jam is expected to start their tour on October 11, 2013 to a sold out crowd in Pittsburg, and end February 2, 2014 in Perth Australia. The tour is in support of their tenth studio album, Lightening Bolt, with newly released singles, “Mind Your Manners” and “Sirens.” The 17-city tour already has 7 sold out shows, and more to be expected. The show will feature their music over the years, no elaborate stages, flying trapeze acts or cannons; the band likes to connect with the fans through their music, and encourage the very energetic sing-along’s.
The lucky venues to host this grudge to rock band are Barclays Center in NY on October 18 and 19 2013, they will play the Voodoo Festival in New Orleans LA on November 11, 2013 and they will finish their U.S. part of the tour in their hometown of Seattle, WA on December 6, 2013. They hit Australia and New Zealand in the new year and will play the Big Day Out Festival starting January 17, 2014 and ending on February 2, 2014.
