Peter Gene Hernandez, otherwise known as Bruno Mars, was raised in Hawaii. His father gave him the nickname Bruno, and he chose Mars because the girls said he was out of this world. His debut album, Doo-Wops and Hooligans gave him 3 worldwide number one hits, “Just The Way You Are,” “Grenade” and “The Lazy Song.” His second album, Unorthodox Jukebox is currently being promoted on his tour, “The Moonshine Jungle Tour.” Mars credits Elvis for his style and he even captured the roll of “little Elvis” in Honeymoon in Vegas. Many artists have influenced him and they span many genres. Let TicketCity get your front row seat to this concert!
“Doo-Wops and Hooligans Tour”
The tour began November 2010 in San Francisco, California, and ran through the end of January 2012 in Brazil. When Mars performs it is always a party and this time was no exception. He had a live band, pyrotechnics, confetti, prepared footage on a massive rear-stage video screen and exuberant group choreography. The set list included “The Other Side,” “Billionaire,” Marry You” and the Michael Jackson’s hit, “Billy Jean.”
"The Moonshine Jungle" Tour
Bruno Mars will finish the last leg of his “Moonshine Jungle Tour” on March 16, 2014 in Auckland New Zealand. He will begin the last leg to a sold out crowd in Belfast at the Odyssey Arena accompanied by his seven-piece band, The Hooligans. Mars will take the stage to the beat of jungle drums and will spring into an amped-up "Moonshine," from his new album "Unorthodox Jukebox." There will be plenty of light shows, disco ball included and the acoustic version of “When I Was Your Man,” piano included. He shows off his octave range when he sings and his dexterity by his movements across the stage. This last leg of the tour already has many sold out shows.
The top stops on this 2013-2014 tour are likely to be the O2 in London, Ziggo Dome in Amsterdam on October 25, Schleyer-Halle in Stuttgart, Oslo Spektrum in Oslo on October 21, Perth Arena on February 28, and Vector Arena in Auckland. Other top cities are Paris, Zurich, Vienna, Berlin and Lisbon.
