Miley Cyrus is the daughter of the famed Country Singer Billy Ray Cyrus. Miley Cyrus rose to international stardom playing a double life as an average teenage girl known as Miley Stewart and a famous pop singer Hannah Montana on the Disney TV show of the same name. On the show, only her close friends and family know her real identity.

Cyrus' singing career started with spots on DisneyMania anthologies, building up to the release of Hannah Montana 2: Meet Miley Cyrus, a 2 disc set featuring 1 disc of performances as Hannah Montana, and a second disc of performances as Miley Cyrus. Essentially a debut album for Cyrus as her own act, and was certified 3x Platinum.
What followed was the highly successful Best of Both Worlds Tour. Like the album, the tour split into 2 section, with Hannah Montana as the first act, and Miley Cyrus as the second act. The Jonas Bothers were the opening act for many shows, furthering their own popularity in the tween market as a result. A film based on the tour followed, also performing exceptionally well, despite being released on less than 1000 screens.
Miley Cyrus followed Best of Both Worlds with Breakout, her first album released solely as "herself", with no use of the Hannah Montana brand. The album debuted posting the 2nd largest sales for a female vocalist. Miley returned to her Hannah Montana roots for the Hannah Montana: The Movie and the associated soundtrack. A new album based on songs from the 3rd season of the Hannah Montana television show is in the works.
