Although they came from humble beginnings in the small town of Franklin, Tenn., Paramore has become one of the most famous rock groups in the world with a large fan base and a bevy of gold and platinum hits. The group, consisting of lead vocalist Hayley Williams and brothers Josh and Zac Farro, initially formed a band during their teenage years, when Williams was already an accomplished singer. Williams signed a solo recording contract with Atlantic Records, but after butting heads with record producers, she decided to get the band back together and Paramore got its start in the mid-2000s.
Soon after their signing with Atlantic Records, the company decided to move the group to Fueled By Ramen, a record label based out of Florida that had great success in promoting emo-pop acts. Paramore's first album, All We Know Is Falling, was released in 2005 and the band promoted it heavily by going on tour with headliners like Simple Plan and Straylight Run, as well as scoring a spot on the Vans Warped Tour.
After the modest success of their first studio album, Paramore struck it big with their sophomore album, Riot!. The record featured hits like "Misery Business," "Crushcrushcrush," and "That's What You Get," which helped the album go platinum within 13 months of its release and secured a Grammy nomination for Best New Artist. Paramore then released their first live album, The Final Riot!, which put on display Paramore's enthralling performances and natural ability onstage.
In 2009, Paramore released Brand New Eyes, which peaked at No. 94 on the Billboard 200 Albums chart and achieved gold status by the end of the year. After a whirlwind bout of touring and recording, Paramore is poised to release their fourth studio album in 2013, which is expected to be a top seller and will showcase the group's continued growth as emo-pop superstars.
