This critically acclaimed Trans-Siberian Orchestra is well known for its interpretations of traditional music. It was founded in 1996 by composers Robert Kinkel, Jon Oliva, and Paul O'Neill. Trans-Siberian Orchestra's unique musical style and influences connect otherwise isolated individuals - much like the Trans-Siberian Railway for which it is named. The show is quickly becoming a holiday tradition.
Well known for their albums "Christmas Eve and Other Stories", "The Christmas Attic", "Lost Christmas Eve", "Beethoven's Last Night", and "Night Castle", Trans-Siberian Orchestra uses a choir and a full-60 piece orchestra. In addition, there are two narrators for the show and local musicians often join the string section. Past guest musicians have included Geoff Tate (Queensryche) and Jon Anderson (Yes). The composers, musicians, and vocalists of Trans-Siberian Orchestra strive to give traditional music a greater emotional impact by incorporating special effects into the show. Lights, lasers, and pyrotechnics are timed to be in sync with the music and story.
Trans-Siberian Orchestra creates a powerful, new holiday ambiance with their shows. Their dramatic, energizing presentations are a new mixture of story telling and musical presentation. Trans-Siberian Orchestra is infused with gospel, R&B, and classical music. Signature pieces include "Oh Holy Night", "Christmas Eve/Sarajevo", and "A Mad Russian's Christmas." Lest you think the aforementioned means a somber evening, fans all the world over clamor for this new kind of rock orchestra that Rocks The House. Good show! The shows was good. However, I went thinking that it was going to be more about Christmas but it seems that it was more rock than what I was expecting. The show was about an hour and 15 mins of a Christmas story and another hour of just rock. What I really liked was the light show which was pretty awesome. December 21, 2014
Didn't play any if the songs from the radio My whole family went to see the show. My 8 yr old son was especially excited because he loves Wizards in Winter and Christmas in Sarajevo. He wanted to go as part of his Christmas present and really wanted to see those songs live. Didn't happen. The only song that was played that I had heard before was Christmas Cannon and it was rather short compared to my memory of the song. It really was more about slinging long hair around than really playing good music. I won't be wasting my money on them next year! December 20, 2014
Exciting Experience I thought the show was great. However, I wish they would feature more of an "orchestra" considering they call themselves Transiberian "Orchestra". It was hard to understand what some of them were saying but overall I thought it was a good show. December 8, 2014
First time I decided to do something different with my 2 daughters and my mom. Everyone left the show wanting more. My girls had a new experience and were exited. My travel plans changed and I was not going to be home to receive the tickets. One phone call and Ticket City changed the delivery to south Florida. Ticket City came thru big. THANK YOU. And my family thanks you. December 1, 2013
