The Gexa Energy Pavilion in south Dallas is one of the most popular amphitheatres in Texas. It regularly hosts some of the top touring concerts in the country. The venue is older, but it has good sightlines and acoustics, so it's a nice place to see your favorite band or performer.
The Gexa Energy Pavilion is known by it's orginal name, The Starplex, to many Dallas residents. As it was named Starplex for many, many years before changing to Smirnoff Center a few years back, then to Gexa Energy Pavilion. So the recent change to Gexa Energy Pavilion will probably only keep people referring to it as The Starplex.

Superpages Center good place to see a show The Superpages Center has been Dallas' top outdoor music venue for 3 decades. The name has changed many times, from Coca-Cola Starplex to Starplex to Superpages, but the venue is still a good place to see a show. Its located in South Dallas at Fairpark, which is the home of the State Fair of Texas and the Cotton Bowl. Parking at Superpages is about the only drawback to the venue, so try to get a parking pass which makes it much, much easier. There is a huge lawn area behind the reserved seating which is great if you just want to hang out and listen to music. The reserved seats all provide a good view and there are often VIP Pit seats located down in the first few rows by the stage. Overall, a show at Superpages Center is a good experience. August 31, 2010
