Complete pricing for the 2012 European Cup in Poland and the Ukraine will be available soon. All Euro Cup ticket orders are guaranteed by a contract invoice. Tickets to certain matches must be picked up at our offices in Europe just before the start of the tournament. We reserve the right to upgrade any order, at no extra charge to the customer.
The teams will begin qualifying for the 2012 Euro Cup in 2010, that will decide which countries are playing in the tournament.
EURO CUP INFORMATION:
The Euro Cup, or UEFA European Cup Championship, is a football (soccer in USA) tournament that features the top qualifying teams from Europe and surrounding area. Sixteen national teams participate in the Euro Cup tournament. Those teams play qualifying matches for two years prior to the tournament to determine the teams that will participate. Then on the date of the Euro Cup draw, the teams are seeded into 4 groups for round robin play. The host country, or countries, for the tournament receive an automatic bye into the Euro Cup. So they are always seeded within the first group or two, of the four groups (A, B, C & D). All of the rest of the spots are filled by the UEFA on the day of the Euro Cup draw. [Note: They are considering a proposal to expand the Euro Cup to 24 teams for the 2016 Euro Cup]
Play from the four sets of group matches is round robin. And the top two teams from each of the four groups earn places in the Euro Cup quarterfinal matches. The quarterfinal matches, Euro Cup semifinal matches are a knockout tournament, where eventually two teams advance to play in the Euro Cup Final. During all knockout matches, extra time and penalty shootouts will occur if a match finishes in a tie score.
The Euro Cup is played every four years, and typically is played so that the tournament always falls two years after the World Cup (Copa Mundial). Many European countries have an illustrious history in the Euro Cup. And Germany and France are some of the countries that have won the Euro Cup multiple times. The first Euro Cup Championship was held in 1960. In that tournament the USSR beat Yugoslavia 2-1 to win the Euro Cup trophy.
