2013 US GRAND PRIX - FORMULA 1 AUSTIN

The Circuit of the Americas, a brand new 3.4 mile track that will hold a 120,000 fans, is the site for the newest edition of the United States Grand Prix. The race has not been held since 2007, when it was at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway. In May of 2010, Formula 1 gave Austin a 10-year contract starting in 2012 and construction began on the first track in the United States to be porpose-built for Formula 1.
The track features 20 turns and an elevation change of 133 feet, and consists of turns inspired by other circuits around the world. The circuit will be run counter-clockwise and the first corner is the highest point of the track.
THE U.S. GRAND PRIX EXPERIENCE:
No matter where your ticket is at the Circuit of the Americas, you're sure to have an amazing time and will have every opportunity to expore every inch of the track. There is a 3 mile footpath around the track that is available to all ticketed patrons that will allow you to see every turn. Each zig and zag will bring something to the table at the Circuit of the Americas. The facility does not only house the Formula 1 track, as the 1000-acre site will host a private Motorsport Driving Club, a Karting Track, retail center and a museum among many other non race-day facilities and events.
GETTING THERE:
There will be buses taking fans from a downtown location as well as the Travis County Expo Center, as parking will be limited. The Circuit of the Americas also has six helipads, and helicopter transport from downtown Austin to the track will be available. For those that will be driving to the Circuit of the Americas, the following are directions from Cesar Chavez St. and I-35.
Directions to track from downtown Austin:
Take 1st/Cesar Chavez St. east (2.9 miles)
Take ramp onto Airport Blvd. (0.6)
Keep left at fork, follow signs for US 183 S., merge onto 183 S (5.7 miles)
Turn left onto FM812 (4.1 miles)
Arrive at Circuit of the Americas
Parking passes will be available for purchase as well as hospitality and luxury box accomodations.
