The Quail Hollow Championship is 1of over 45 golf tournaments that makes up the PGA Tour in the United States. This American tour occurs in late spring during the first week of May. Since its inception in 2003 this tournament has been held at the Charlotte, North Carolina country club, Quail Hollow. This was the original site of the Kemper Classic.
The Quail Hollow Championship is sponsored by Wells Fargo, who purchased Wachovia in 2008, necessitating the change from the original name, Wachovia Championship. It has awarded purses of over 5 million dollars to all of its winners. This Professional Golfer’s Association tournament has seen some of the best golf players in the 20th century: Vigay Singh, Tiger Woods and David Toms.
