2013 US OPEN GOLF TOURNAMENT RESULTS:
Anticipation behind the 113th US Open hit an all-time high with the announcement of the Woods, Mcllroy, Scott pairing but slowly faded as nerves seemed to get the best of the three stars. Though Mickelson headed the leader board for a decent part of the tournament he was unable to hold on to the top spot after shooting 4 over in the final round. With 3 solid rounds at 71, 69, and 71 Justin Rose carded an even 70 in the final round to take a 2 stroke lead and his first US Open victory.

Every year the U.S. Golf Association hosts a major championship in men's professional golf, the US Open. This championship title is one of the oldest in the sport as it dates back to 1895. Although the competition is played on American soil, the early years were dominated by British golfers. The past 50 years have seen an influx of talented players from throughout the world's golfing community making the US Open one of the most exciting competitions in men's golf.
The US Open is held at different courses each year, and though some courses have made regular appearances at the Open, no course has hosted the event two years in a row. Courses are selected that require high skill level, and rarely produce wins significantly under par. The US Open is unique among the golf majors due to tie-breaking rules that provide for an additional 18 hole round of play held the day after the final. Only after that round, should the contestants still be tied, is a sudden death playoff held. This has happened only 3 times in Open history.
The US Open men's championship is one of the most challenging in the sport. Course designs are demanding and fans are guaranteed a good day of golf. Legends are born at the US Open. Rory Conquers the USA I was lucky enough to witness the day that Rory McIlroy won the US Open. I have seen him many times on the European Tour and knew this day would come. His potential has always been there and now you folks in the USA have seen it first hand. I have just arrived back home in the UK, tired and weary and although the tickets were expensive (the fed-ex shipments fee was quite large) it was worth every penny/dollar. I followed Rory on Sunday, walking the whole course until the 18th. where obviously the viewing was restricted but the big screen was not too far away so watched the ending there. I also have to compliment the shuttle service from the free car park, our getaway was both quick and trouble free. June 21, 2011
