Cash-strapped sports fans might not be ponying up as much for college football tickets as last year, but new data from secondary broker TicketCity show tickets for some games are still fetching quite a price.

The Austin, Texas-based online broker said the Sept. 12 OSU-USC game in Columbus Ohio between the University of Southern California and Ohio State University is the most sought-after ticket for the upcoming college football season with an average sale price of $842 and a starting price of $349. That’s one of the highest price tags in college football history, TicketCity said. The University of Texas' matchup against the University of Oklahoma on Oct. 10 is the 5th most in-demand game, with tickets going for $430 on average.

Tickets to the most sought-after games of the season are selling for about $385 on average, compared with $425 last year, TicketCity said.

The most in-demand tickets based on sale price, according to TicketCity:

  1. USC at Ohio State: $842
  2. Arkansas at Texas A&M: $620
