TicketCity company history!

History

Randy Cohen got his start in the ticket business in 1988 in Austin, Texas. As a student at the University of Texas he sold tickets to local events and built a reputation as the best source for tickets. Randy's client base grew and he knew it was time for something bold, so in 1990 he founded TicketCity.

TicketCity's original staff was a few employees and one computer crammed into a tiny office. The company has grown steadily since then and today employs more than 35 people in a 10,000 square foot office building in Austin. From those small beginnings a multimillion-dollar company has formed; one which remains committed to providing great tickets and exemplary customer service. TicketCity currently has over 100,000 loyal and happy customers in more than 70 different countries.

TicketCity Today
Over our 18 years in business we have seen a lot of change in the world of ticket brokers; it has grown from a few regional companies into a thousand ticket brokers and billions of dollars in transactions. Ticket prices have increased, operations that once relied on phone and fax now have sophisticated websites and regulations limiting ticket resale have been abolished. The ticket industry
continues to evolve, and TicketCity remains a reliable source for good ticket and great service.

We are bigger now but Randy has the same passion for excellence as when he founded the company. Our Management Team has been with the company for more than a decade and our Sales Team are ticket experts with years of experience.

TicketCity Website
TicketCity's history on the web is a notable one, our first website was launched in 1996. That static site gave way to bigger things in 1998 when TicketCity was the first ticket broker to launch an ecommerce website on August 8th. In the decade that TicketCity has been online, the website has undergone several upgrades to ensure our clients have the best experience. In 2001 we were the first ticket broker to allow customers to purchase our inventory in real-time; and today remain the only true real-time site in the industry. In 2007 we premiered our TicketCity Blog, which is the most informative blog in the ticket industry, and a robust About Us section so our clients know us. In 2008 we rolled out our proprietary Seatkey Technology and interactive seating charts, which both make buying tickets easier.  These innovations are what have made TicketCity one of the largest ticket websites on the internet today.
