OSU Sells Out Allotment of Cotton Bowl Tickets
December 9, 2009
(STILLWATER, OK) — It didn’t take long for available Cotton Bowl tickets to become a rare commodity.
On Sunday, Oklahoma State accepted a bid to the 2010 Cotton Bowl on Jan. 2 to face Ole Miss at Cowboys Stadium in Arlington, Texas.
Two days later, OSU had already sold out its allotment of tickets, and the Cotton Bowl box office is quickly running out of available tickets for the game.
The OSU ticket office sold out the entire allotment of 13,466 tickets in less than two days. The Cowboys got an initial allotment of 12,500 and received an additional 966 tickets after they officially accepted the bowl invitation.
Available tickets at the Cotton Bowl box office are going just as quickly.
"We have just a few left,” Cotton Bowl president Rick Baker said on Tuesday afternoon. "We certainly expect to be sold out by the end of the week.
"With the terrific fan (bases) of Oklahoma State and Ole Miss it didn’t take long to (reach this point).”
The only remaining tickets available through the Cotton Bowl are club seats for $250. Club seats are located behind both benches on the lower level. For more information, fans can call the Cotton Bowl ticket office at 1-888-792-BOWL or email firstname.lastname@example.org. Some Luxury Suites also remain available.
With OSU sold out of its allotment and the Cotton Bowl box office nearing a sellout, fans likely will be forced to turn to online sites like StubHub.com, Ticketcity.com and Ticketliquidator.com for tickets to the game.
Thousands of tickets are available online at various prices. Stubhub.com has more than 6,000 tickets available, including Party Pass (standing room only) tickets for $68 to $95 and 400 level tickets (Upper reserved) for $89 and higher.
Field Level tickets behind OSU’s bench are going for as little as $219 and as much as $1,500 apiece for two seats in Row 1. Field level end zone seats can be purchased for as little as $130 apiece and no higher than $259 apiece.
Ticketcity.com also has more than 1,400 tickets available ranging from $85 to $750
The capacity at Cowboys Stadium for the Cotton Bowl will be 71,167, and Baker said he expects the crowd to be "substantially over 70,000” including the standing-room-only crowd.
