Vols fans can still find Chick-fil-A Bowl game tickets
December 7, 2009
(KNOXVILLE, TN) -- As of Monday morning, the UT Athletic Department and the Chick-fil-A Bowl ticket offices were sold out for the Vols matchup with Virginia Tech on New Year's Eve. But you can still get tickets.
It's the first time the Vols and the Hokies will meet since the 1994 Gator Bowl.
Although UT sold all 15,000 seats by Monday, officials hoped to sell an additional 2,000 tickets Tuesday morning. However, officials now say if there are any more tickets, they won't be available until next Monday.
Management at the Chick-fil-A Bowl office says there's still a chance of scoring tickets, since some reserved seats may open. Bowl office officials suggest calling their office as well.
If you don't mind sitting with the enemy, Virginia Tech still has a few thousand tickets left and doesn't anticipate selling out by Tuesday.
Tickets can also be found on online marketplaces as well.
EBay.com is selling tickets, although the bids are pricey. A package of four seats was listed Monday for $625.
Also StubHub.com has over 4,000 for sale with prices ranging from $95 to about $17,000.
As of Monday afternoon, TicketCity.com has 57 tickets available with prices ranging from $137 to $237.
Plus, Chick-fil-A's Web site has its own ticket marketplace.
Tickets can be ordered on the Internet at UTTix.com or in person at the UT Athletics ticket office inside Thompson-Boling Arena.
You can also call (865)-656-1200 or (404)-586-8499 to get tickets.
If you can't make it to Atlanta, the game at the Georgia Dome at 7:30 p.m. December 31 will be shown on ESPN.
