NBC Sports Teams Up With TicketCity
Partnership gives NBC Sports and Rotoworld clients access to the best tickets for sporting events.
NEW YORK (October 20, 2008) NBC Sports and TicketCity recently announced a partnership that will give NBC Sports fans the opportunity to buy tickets for the top sporting events in the country. TicketCity is now the featured ticket provider on NBCSports.com website, as well as, NBC Sports owned Rotoworld.com and Sandbox.com. The deal pairs TicketCity’s inventory of event tickets with one of the premier sports sites on the web.
“TicketCity has been one of the premium brands in ticketing for nearly 20 years, and we own the largest ticket inventory in our industry,” said Randy Cohen, TicketCity CEO. “We are excited to partner with one of the top brands in the online space. NBC Sports is a great destination for consumers following sports, and now they’ll be able to find great tickets as well.”
As part of the exclusive deal, TicketCity links are featured throughout the NBC Sports site including individual team pages. Similar TicketCity placements will appear on Rotoworld and Sandbox, including branded “hot event” boxes on each main category page. In addition, TicketCity and NBC Sports will offer specials for certain major sporting events.
Sports tickets are one of the hottest sectors in the US online secondary ticket market. A February 2008 study by Forrester Research revealed that sales of sports tickets made up 67% of the secondary market in 2007. Forrester predicts sports tickets to be almost ¾ of online secondary ticket sales by 2012.
“Millions of people are buying sports tickets online every year. This partnership brings NBC sports fans closer to a reliable source for tickets,” said Cohen.
TicketCity is one of the most reliable ticket brands and owns the largest inventory of tickets in the secondary ticket market. TicketCity specializes in tickets for all college sports and championship events such as the Super Bowl, Final Four, Kentucky Derby and Masters. TicketCity partners include NBC Sports, Open Sports, Scout.com, and Rivals. In 2007 and 2008, TicketCity was named to Inc. Magazine's prestigious Inc. 5000 list. TicketCity was founded in 1990 and is headquartered in Austin, Texas. For more information visit www.TicketCity.com.
