TicketCity Reveals Top 25 Hottest College Football Games for Week 8
Average ticket prices for hot games remain high as AP rankings continue to dramatically change
AUSTIN, TX (October 18, 2010) For the second week in a row the number one ranked team in the country has been dramatically defeated. Big changes in the polls reflect this weekend’s upsets as Ohio State and Nebraska dropped in the rankings while teams like Oklahoma, LSU, Auburn, and Michigan State continue to climb the top 10 BCS standings. The bowl race has changed dramatically and over the next few weeks some key games will settle everything. TicketCity’s has this week’s Top 25 Games which highlight some of these key matchups and the most anticipated games of the season.
Michigan State at Iowa, October 30th, will have big implications for the Big 10 championship. With the defeat of Ohio State this weekend, the championship race is not as clear as before. Number seven Michigan State will hope to creep upward in the rankings for championship consideration, but number 15 Iowa will be tough to beat at home. The average ticket price for the matchup is $204, but TicketCity.com has tickets starting at $139.
For the SEC, this season has been especially full of upsets and the only two remaining undefeated teams are number four Auburn and number six LSU. The duo meet up on October 23rd and the game should be interesting to watch. Auburn dominates the offense but their defense is shaky while LSU is the exact opposite. LSU will have to shut down Auburn QB Cam Newton if they hope for a chance, however, there is always LSU’s miraculous comebacks to watch out for. Average ticket prices are $239, but TicketCity.com has tickets starting at $117.
In the much anticipated Nebraska vs Texas game this weekend, the Cornhuskers fell victim to Texas’s defense and with their defeat, fell their ranking. Now ranked number 16, the Cornhuskers must hold off Oklahoma State if they hope to keep any bowl dreams alive. The Cornhuskers should be back with a vengeance on October 23rd, average ticket prices are $210, but TicketCity.com has them starting at $145.
