TicketCity Reveals the Top 25 Hottest College Football Games for Week Three
Though Michigan didn’t make the top 25 in poll rankings, tickets to four Wolverines games are in high demand.
Austin, TX (Marketwire – September 10, 2008) –
SEC teams continue to dominate the top 25 hottest games with Georgia involved in six of the 25 games. However, unranked Michigan is currently tied with last year’s champions, LSU, for having the most in-demand games of the season.
Four of the top 25 hottest games tickets involve the Wolverines. “Michigan has a strong schedule this year,” commented Rafael Rivas, VP of Sales for TicketCity. “The Ohio State and Michigan State games are big rivalries. Also, Notre Dame will always draw a crowd and Penn State has a strong fan presence during home games.”
By the third week last season, the
Michigan at Ohio State game had dropped from $736 the first week to $542 by the third week. “With Ohio State ranked in the top five of the polls this year and with Michigan fans willing to travel, prices for that rivalry game will remain high. Unless there are some major upsets in the next few weeks, I don’t see any regular season game topping that ticket price right now,” stated Rivas.
However, decreasing the most in average price per ticket is the Michigan at Notre Dame game. Dropping 14 spots, the average price decreased by $126.50. In contrast, the average ticket price for two state rivalry games, Oklahoma at Oklahoma State and Michigan at Michigan State, increased enough to secure new spots in the top 25 games.
TicketCity releases this week's list of the top 25 hottest games of the 2008 regular
college football season based on average ticket price. The list was accumulated by compiling a majority of the available tickets on the secondary market throughout the entire country. The secondary market is comprised of over 800 established ticket brokers and every fan who is listing extra tickets to sell.
Prices will continue to fluctuate throughout the 2008 season and TicketCity will continue to update the hottest games list from week to week. View the top 25 games list below or visit the TicketCity.com web site at
