The Kentucky Oaks is a Grade 1 Stakes race for 3 year-old Thoroughbred fillies. The race is run at the historic Churchill Downs racetrack, which has hosted the race since its conception in 1875. The Kentucky Oaks race is run a day before the Kentucky Derby, another Grade 1 Stakes race for 3 year-old Thoroughbred horses. Both races are intimately associated with one another, as both hold many of the same traditions.

The Kentucky Oaks is a smaller race than the Kentucky Derby, though is the third most prominent horse race in the United States every year. The Oaks attracts many locals (more so than the Derby) and visitors alike, and the atmosphere is always full of vigor during race day. Both races are hosted at Churchill Downs, the United States' oldest continuously operating horse track.
Each year TicketCity has a local presence at the Kentucky Oaks, and the Derby, to assist our clients with ticket pickup and additional purchases. As the weekends' events draw near, our sales associates are available for personal assistance as needed. Therefore, clients have the option to purchase online or over the phone and pick up locally at the event.
