Houston Astros 5 5 3 3
Astros game is a good time for everyone I went to an Astros game on my last visit to Houston and wound up with a memorable experience. We didn't decide to go until the last minute, but were happy we did. Traffic was light getting to Minute Maid Park. We spent $10.00 to park in a surface lot 4-5 blocks from the stadium entrance. So within 20 minutes of leaving the house we were inside the ballpark. Minute Maid Park may not have the history of Fenway or Wrigley, but it is still a great venue for a baseball game. The roof was closed because of the heat outside and once inside the A/C made the atmosphere as comfortable as a movie theater. There are lots of good concession options - try the BBQ at Lefty's and big drinks from Igloo's frozen drinks. The view from our seats was excellent, we were 20 rows from the field but still felt really involved in the action. During the later innings we took a stroll around the concourse and checked out the view from different parts of the park. There truly isn't a bad seat in the house. My wife, who is not a sports fan, said she would happily go back to an Astros game. The experience was beyond just baseball, it was also a great night out on the town. August 3, 2010
Fun Time For All The last remant of the Killer Bees is gone. Roy Oswalt is gone. Yet the Astros somehow have improved. With great young prospects and a potential homefield advantage just waiting to release itself upon opponents, the Astros look to have a strong future in front of them. Inside Minute Maid Park, there are quirks almost never seen in baseball stadiums including the flag poles on top of the hill inside the field of play out in center field. Add to that the Crawford Boxes in left, which makes for probably the easiest home run in all of baseball, and it gives you a fun quirky stadium which should play to the Astros advantage for years to come. Tickets were a hit! Jason helped me get tickets to take my kids to their first Astros game. It was easy and the tickets were great. The kids loved being close and had a blast seeing their first live home run. Thanks! August 20, 2012
