2009 Toronto Blue Jays MLB Preview:
The Toronto Blue Jays head into 2009 feeling confident about their baseball team. The Blue Jays club is stacked with talent on the mound, in the batters box and on the field. The biggest challenge for Toronto is probably overcoming one of the toughest divisions in baseball. The Blue Jays play in the AL East with the free spending Yankees, World Series winning Red Sox and suddenly surging Tampa Bay Rays. Winning a AL division that stacked is a tall order for any team, but Jays Manager Cito Gaston has a great shot with his current club. If Gaston can get Roy Halladay pitching great and players like Vernon Wells, Kevin Millar and Scott Rolen hitting great, then watch out for the Toronto Blue Jays in 2009.

The Toronto Blue Jays, commonly referred to as the Jays, play baseball in the East Division of Major League Baseball's American League. The franchise was founded in 1977 as part of that year's league expansion, which included the Seattle Mariners. With the Montreal Expos' move to D.C. as the Washington Nationals, the Blue Jays are the only MLB team left outside the U.S. They are also the only team outside the U.S. to win a World Series, and the only team to win a Worlds Series at home in Canada. The Jays' two championships came in 1992 and 1993.

The Toronto Blue Jays play their home games at Rogers Centre (formerly the SkyDome) in Toronto, Ontario. Seating a substantial baseball crowd of more than 50,000, Rogers Centre is an architectural marvel - it's the first stadium ever built with a fully retractable roof. A game at Rogers Centre provides fans with a breathtaking view of downtown Toronto and the CN Tower. Buy Toronto Blue Jays tickets today and watch this former championship team play itself back into form for another playoff run!
