Boston Red Sox Ticket Information

Author: Evan Knopp

The Red Sox have an illustrious baseball history, starting play as the Boston Americans back in 1901. Armed with one of the best pitchers in baseball history, Cy Young, Boston won the World Series in their third Major League season. That would be just the tip of the iceberg for the Red Sox, as they would go on to win the World Series again in 1912, 1915, 1916 and 1918, the last three of which were won with the help of Babe Ruth. After Ruth was sold to the Yankees, the Red Sox went 85 years without another World Series title. Not winning a championship didn’t mean that the Sox didn’t put together strong teams. Ted Williams brought Boston to the World Series in 1946 and Carl Yastrzemski reached the World Series in 1967 and 1975. Roger Clemens and Wade Boggs nearly won the World Series in 1986, but a ground ball got by Boston first baseman Bill Buckner in Game 6 against the Mets and ultimately cost the Sox the championship. The Curse of the Bambino was finally lifted in 2004, when Boston captured the franchise’s sixth World Series victory. In 2007 the Sox added their seventh championship. The Red Sox have retired the numbers of seven former players and managers. Score with TicketCity - the place to go for Boston Red Sox baseball tickets.

2014 Red Sox Season Preview

The Red Sox are the defending champions after beating the St. Louis Cardinals in the World Series. The team bounced back from a last-place finish in 2013 to take the title, and are now one of the favorites to do it again in 2014. The Sox lost CF Jacoby Ellsbury in free agency to the Yankees, as well as Jarrod Saltalamacchia and Stephen Drew, but the Sox brass believes guys like Grady Sizemore, Jackie Bradley Jr. and Xander Bogaerts will fill in nicely for them. The Sox locked up slugger David Ortiz and Dustin Pedroia as well, so expect this team to be in the mix for many years to come.

The AL East is arguable the best division in baseball, so it will always be tough for the Sox to win the division, but they’re the favorites to win in 2014 behind strong offense and a solid pitching staff.

Boston Red Sox Rivals

This may be the quintessential rivalry in all of American Sports. Played over 2100 times, these two titans of baseball are more than familiar, and their relationship is all the more contentious for it. A list of the historic players for each team would take multiple pages, and a list of the memorable games between them would take even longer. The Bombers and Sox are polarizing and their games have the most energy, history, and passion. To attend a meeting between these two teams is on the list of every baseball fan.

Red Sox vs. Orioles

When people think of rivalries in the AL East, they often stop after Red Sox Yankees. The Red Sox rivalry with the Orioles is not on the same caliber as the Yankees, but that does not mean that it should be overlooked. The Orioles recent emergence from over a decade of mediocrity has put the matchup between these two traditional clubs in a more important place. The Red Sox and Orioles have been divisional rivals for over 60 years and have two of the best ballparks in the country.

Boston Red Sox in the World Series, American League Championship Series and MLB Playoffs

As one of the oldest franchises in Major League Baseball history, the Boston Red Sox have created a legacy that is hard to match. The Red Sox dominated baseball throughout the first two decades of the 1900s. The organization won 5 World Series times during that span before they sold Babe Ruth to the New York Yankees in 1918. Often referred to as the “Curse of the Bambino,” the Red Sox went 86 years before they won a World Series title again in 2004. Overall, the Red Sox have won more than the 10 AL Pennants and 5+ division titles.

Where is the best place to park at Fenway Park?

Parking at Fenway is a little cramped. A Majority of the available parking is located to the south of the stadium. We recommend looking in the Storrow Drive area as there are a few good options between there and Boylston Street. If you don’t mind a little walk try looking on Park Dr. along the river. Another great way to get to the stadium is using the public transportation systems. The T lets off only about a block away from the stadium and is always full of Red Sox Fans. There are also a few bus options in the area, just be sure to check return times before counting on taking the bus home from the game.

Sox vs. Tigers This was our first time attending a Ball Game at the Green Monstah and it was a great experience. The seats were great, ambiance was unbelievable . It was a trip to remember. Hope to be in Chicago next year and I will be purchasing my tickets through Ticket City once more. August 5, 2012
Green Monstaaah!! I needed to take clients from Austin to a Red Sox game - but it was sold out of course - and had 48 hours until my flight to Boston. Called TicketCity and got great seats along the right field line in the "new" terrace addition at Fenway (Sec 33, Row 2) and in my hands before the flight. Red Sox pounded the Blue Jays 17-5 so the game experience was fun. There are some bad seats at Fenway in the lower section behind poles but mine were sweet. The pole we saw was "Pesky's Pole" in RF. Great view of the Green Monster and a porch/bar behind our section. Very glad I didn't have to scalp on the sidewalks with clients - thanks TicketCity. February 3, 2012
Became Red Sox fans It was our first MLB game. The game, the fans, and the ambiance were very nice. Though Red Sox lost it, we've become Sox fans ever since! August 9, 2011
Blue Jays & Red Sox My husband and I had a wonderful time at this game with our 2 boys, ages 9 and 2. Our oldest was in awe that we were so close (even in the bleachers) and our youngest had a great time cheering "Let's Go Red Sox, Let's Go" and clapping along with everyone. It is so important to my husband and I, to give our boys such incredible memories. Thank You Ticket City!!! July 8, 2011
