The 2014 MLB regular season was as exciting as we have seen in recent years, with multiple playoff races coming down to the final day. Now that the 2014 MLB Playoff bracket has been set, 10 teams will battle for the right to be crowned champions of the 110th Fall Classic.
- Date: October 10-18, 2014
- Teams Kansas City Royals vs. Baltimore Orioles
In one of the most exciting run-ups to October in recent memory, two playoff races finished the year separated by only a single game. Jon Lester and the A’s squeaked into the postseason and take on James Shields and a Royals team that just missed taking the AL Central pennant, for the right to play the AL best Angels in the ALDS. On the other side of the bracket, a strong Detroit Tigers rotation, headlined by Max Scherzer, will hope to outduel a deadly Baltimore Orioles lineup anchored by Nelson Cruz and his MLB best 40 home runs.
- Date: October 11-19, 2014
- Teams San Francisco Giants vs. St. Louis Cardinals
The National League playoff picture looks to be as wide open as we have seen in a few years. The Pittsburgh Pirates rode a stellar year by athletic center fielder Andrew McCutchen to a 2nd straight playoff berth and will take on Madison Bumgarner and the Giants for a chance to play the resurgent Washington Nationals. The other NLDS is a battle of two of the National League’s most storied franchises, as defending National League champion St. Louis Cardinals go up against Yasiel Puig, Matt Kemp and the Los Angeles Dodgers.
