The New York Yankees are baseball’s most successful franchise, exerting their dominance over the sport for more than a century. The Yankee’s first experience with success came in the early 1920s. After acquiring Babe Ruth from the Boston Red Sox, New York made back-to-back-to-back World Series appearances from 1921 to 1923. After being denied their first two tries, the Yankees finally won the franchise’s first World Series title by knocking off the New York Giants in six games. Two years later the Yankees were back in the World Series, and in 1927 and 1928 Ruth teamed with Lou Gehrig to win two more championships. Ruth and Gehrig won World Series number four in 1932. From 1936 to 1964 the Yankees reached 22 World Series in 29 seasons, winning an astonishing 16 titles with stars like Joe DiMaggio, Mickey Mantle, Yogi Berra, Phil Rizzuto and Roger Maris. The next two World Series wins came in the late 1970s with another roster teeming with All-Stars. From 1995 to 2009 the Yankees were dominant once again, winning five World Series titles and being mainstays in the postseason thanks to stars like Derek Jeter, Roger Clemens and Mariano Rivera. The Yankees have retired 16 numbers through their illustrious history. Score with TicketCity - the place to go for New York Yankees baseball tickets.

Out of the Ball Park! We went on our honeymoon to New York from the UK and really wanted to see the New York Yankees at the Yankee Stadium. We thought it would be really difficult to get tickets but thanks to TicketCity it was easy. We just ordered them over the internet a couple of months before the flights and they arrived through the post in plenty of time. It was our first baseball game and happened to be the penultimate game for shortstop hero Derek Jeter. Apart from the excitement and entertainment of the game, the spectacle of the Stadium and the atmosphere ensured that it was not only a highlight of the honeymoon, but it has made us confirmed baseball fans!
