2009 Chicago Cubs MLB Preview:
What else can you say about the 2009 Chicago Cubs other than maybe this will finally be the year. Cubs fans will surely have both their fingers and toes crossed heading into the new season. There is reason for optimism in Wrigleyville because the Cubs won the National League Central Division title in 2008 and return Manager Lou Piniella this year. Chicago also returns many of their key players for 2009, including; Kosuke Fukodome, Alfonso Soriano, Carlos Zambrano and Jeff Samardzjia. In addition the Cubs added outfielder Milton Bradley and pitcher Luis Vizcaino, so the Cubbies lineup will be stacked.
If Bradley can repeat his outstanding 2008 season, when he led the American League with a .323 batting average, then Cubs fans could add their first World Series title in over a century. The Cubs will play their 2009 home games at venerable Wrigley Field. Wrigley is one of the oldest (since 1916) and most majestic stadiums in sports. If you have never been to a Chicago Cubs game at Wrigley Field, then you are missing out on a great experience. A day game at Wrigley during the Summer goes beyond sports, it is a true life experience.

The Chicago Cubs play baseball in the Central Division of Major League Baseball's National League. The franchise was established in 1876 as the White Stockings and is the only charter member left in the National League still playing in its original city. The Cubs are often affectionately known as the Cubbies or the Northsiders to distinguish the team from its south-side American League rivals, the White Sox. The Cubs have had the longest championship drought of all the major league sports teams in North America, but haven't seen any lack of fan support throughout. Chicago will look to put the many stunning disappointments behind it this season and fight for a playoff berth.
The Chicago Cubs play their home games at historic Wrigley Field. Known as "the Friendly Confines", Wrigley Field has been home to the Cubs since 1916, and holds more than 41,000 spectators. The stadium is more like a cathedral than a baseball field, and is a destination not only for baseball fans but also for anyone interested in sports and American history. Buy Chicago Cubs tickets today and be a part of baseball history. Let's see if the Cubbies can make the last 100 years count!
