Milwaukee Brewers at Chicago Cubs - Home Opener
Wrigley Field, Chicago, IL

After missing the postseason last year the Chicago Cubs are on a mission to turn their future around in 2013 but with the Houston Astros heading out to the AL, Chicago's own will be hard pressed to avoid a last place finish. The Cubs start the season off with a three game series against the Pirates and then the Braves before heading home for the opening series against the Brewers on April 8.
The first pitch of the season at Wrigley Field will come from a bullpen that became the main focus of the Cubs off-season. Combining for the NL's third worst ERA at 4.52 last season, the Cubs have improved their starting rotation drastically with the addition of four new arms. Inside the batter's box the Cubs will continue to rely on Starlin Castro as the lineups anchor while they continue to rebuild the bats with newly acquired sluggers like Rizzo and Jackson. If nothing else the Cubs have laid a solid foundation to build off of acquiring more than enough talent to improve on last year's 101-loss' starting with the Brewers come April.
