Philadelphia Phillies Tickets Information

The Phillies have been a staple in Philadelphia since the 1880s. Things were slow for the franchise in its early years. Philadelphia didn’t win a pennant until the 1915 season, when it was defeated by the Boston Red Sox in the World Series. Between 1918 and 1948 the Phillies would finish no higher than fourth in the National League. 1950 marked a return to the World Series for Philadelphia, but the team was erased in four games by Joe DiMaggio and the New York Yankees. In the 1970s the Phillies finally had their run of success. Mike Schmidt and Steve Carlton led the team to six playoff appearances in an eight-year span. After being eliminated in the NLCS three times, the Phillies finally won their first World Series title in 1980. In the late 2000s, Philadelphia again rose to the top of the baseball world. Behind Jimmy Rollins, Chase Utley and Ryan Howard the Phillies won five straight NL East crowns, reaching two World Series, and beat the Tampa Bay Rays in five games for the 2008 World Series title. Through the Phillies’ long history, the team has retired the numbers of seven former players. Score with TicketCity - the place to go for Philadelphia Phillies baseball tickets.

Philadelphia Phillies Rivals

Phillies vs. Pirates

Philadelphia and Pittsburgh have been rival cities for centuries. The Phillies and Pirates first played each other in 1887 and have played over 2000 times since. Both teams were founding members of the NL East and dominated the division for 2 decades before the Pirates moved to the NL Central in the early 1990’s. The rivalry has regained importance in the last few years with both teams being among the best in the National League.

Phillies vs. Braves

This rivalry really took form when the Braves moved to the NL East in the early 1990’s. Where the Phillies and the Pirates had dominated the previous 2 decades, the Braves saw instant and lasting success in the NL East. In the late 2000’s the Phillies took the crown back from the Braves and won 5 consecutive titles. In the last 2 decades the Braves and Phillies have combined for over 17 division titles, and this rivalry is almost always between the divisions two best teams.

Phillies vs. Giants

Even though this rivalry is between two of the oldest teams in the National League, it didn’t really gain fire until the last decade. Both teams joined the NL in 1883 and have seen great and continued success throughout the course of their history. However, in the last decade they have been consistently among the elite teams in baseball and have met multiple times in the post-season. Known for pitching duels and bench clearing brawls, this rivalry is currently one of the most contentious in the national league.

Philadelphia Phillies in the World Series, National League Championship Series and MLB Playoffs

As one of the oldest teams in Major League Baseball history, the Philadelphia Phillies have established themselves as one of the better franchises in the game. Behind baseball legend Mike Schmidt, the Phillies won five division titles during the 1970s and the 1980s. The organization also won two NL pennants and their first of two World Series titles in 1980. Overall, Philadelphia has won more than six NL pennants and won five consecutive NL East titles between the years 2007-2011.

Philadelphia Phillies Event Guide

What time do the gates open prior to a Phillies game?

Monday through Friday gates open 90 minutes before game time. On Saturday and Sunday gates open 2 hours before the first pitch. If you enjoy watching batting practice, the Phillies open the Ashburn Alley (Left Field Gate) 2 ½ hours before game time every night to allow fans to watch their favorite Phillies warm up.

Where are good places to eat before a Phillies game?

Philadelphia has some of the best sports bars in the country. Victory Beer Hall, Philadium Restaurant & Tavern, and Chickie’s & Pete’s are three of the best, and only a short distance from Citizens Bank Park. If you enjoy great barbeque don’t miss out on trying Bomb Bomb. For unbelievable Mexican food try Los Gallos Mexican Taqueria, or Las Palmas Restaurant. For a more upscale dining experience visit Spectrum Grill or Cadillac Grille. No Philadelphia food guide is complete without some Cheesesteak places. Campo’s Deli, T&N HomeMade Kitchen, and Talk of the Town are all worth checking out. Other good places in the area are Medora’s Mecca, Bibou, and Miss Rachel’s Pantry.

Where is the best place to park at Citizens Bank Park?

Parking at Citizens Bank Park is incredibly easy. Parking options that are shared with Wells Fargo Center and Lincoln Financial Field surround the stadium. The majority of the parking directly around the stadium is reserved for season ticket holders or parking pass holders. However, on the south side of the stadium, just south of Pattison Avenue are the K, and L lots that are open to the general public and the most convenient for non season ticket holders. If all of those spots are full, try looking on the northwest corner of the stadium. Parking in this area runs from Phillies Drive all the way to Packer Avenue. There are also good parking options on the southwest corner of the stadium surrounding XFinity Live and Wells Fargo Center.

Does my child need a ticket to attend the game?

Children under the age of 3 will be allowed to enter Citizens Bank Park without a ticket, but must sit on a parent’s lap for the duration of the game. We recommend bringing proof of your child’s age with you to ensure they are allowed to enter the stadium.
