Texas Rangers Tickets Information

The Texas Rangers are one of the most popular sports teams in the Lone Star State. The team originally played in Washington, D.C. and was known as the Senators. In 1972, the Rangers moved to Arlington and began a new era of professional baseball in Texas. 1994 was the first year in the club's new stadium, The Ballpark at Arlington, which instantly gave the team one of the most modern facilities in the Major Leagues. The Rangers won division titles in 1996, 1998 and 1998, but it wouldn't be until the late 2000s that the squad really hit their stride. In 2010 and 2011, the Rangers were one of the best teams in baseball and played in the World Series each season. Coming off that success, the Rangers are one of the most dangerous teams in the American League and have the motivation to get back to the Fall Classic and capture the franchise's first title.

2015 Texas Rangers Season Preview

The Texas Rangers 2014 season was marred with injuries. From day one the Rangers were shorthanded, with stars Jurickson Profar, Prince Fielder, Shin-Soo Choo, Matt Harrison, Colby Lewis, Yu Darvish, and Martin Perez all missing extended time during the season due to injury. This large number of injuries saw the Rangers fall from competing for the AL Division crown, to last place in the division. The result saw manager Ron Washington depart and the Rangers looking to reload for 2015.

The 2015 season will be about redemption for the Texas Rangers. The Rangers named Jeff Banister as the new manager, resigned Colby Lewis, and looked to get healthy. The 2015 Texas Rangers lineup will include some new faces, including Yovani Gallardo, Ross Detwiler, and Anthony Ranaudo. But the key for the Rangers success in 2015 will again lie with the team’s core list of stars Elvis Andrus, Adrian Beltre, Yu Darvish, and Prince Fielder. If the injury plague of 2014 is really behind the Texas Rangers, then the Rangers will once again be competing for the AL West title, and should remain one of the most exciting teams to watch in baseball.

Texas Rangers Rivals

Rangers vs. Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim

The Rangers and Angels are AL West rivals who annually battle each other to win the division. Over the past fifteen years, the two squads have won the AL West 9 times. The rivalry has intensified recently as a couple prominent former-Rangers, CJ Wilson and Josh Hamilton, signed free agent contracts with the Angels. The verbal sparring and hard-fought battles on the field has made this into one of the top rivalries in baseball. Don’t miss a game whenever the Angels are visiting Globe Life Park.

Rangers vs. Houston Astros

The cities of Dallas and Houston have long debated which is the “top city” in Texas, so it’s only natural that their representative ball clubs now both compete in the American League West division. The games between the Rangers and Astros have been dubbed the Lone State Series or Silver Boot Series.

Texas Rangers in the World Series, American League Championship Series and MLB Playoffs

After some quiet early years in Arlington, the Rangers were in the fixture in the postseason during the late 1990’s and again today. The Rangers have twice played in the World Series and came within one strike of winning in 2011. The Rangers have won the AL West a handful of times and earned a wild card berth to the postseason in 2012.
