The Columbus Crew Soccer Club is among the all-time most successful soccer franchises in North America. The Crew were founded in 1994 and are one of the 10 charter members of Major League Soccer. Columbus has been a perennial player in the MLS Cup playoffs, reaching the MLS post-season almost every season. In 2008, the Columbus Crew reached and won their first MLS Cup final, defeating the New York Red Bulls 3-1. The Columbus Crew Soccer Club plays their home games at Mapfre Stadium in Columbus, Ohio. Mapfre Stadium has been home of the Crew since 1999 and is one of the premier soccer venues in the nation. Regarded as the first soccer-specific stadium built for the MLS in the United States, Mapfre Stadium is among the most beloved soccer facilities in all of Major League Soccer. Mapfre Stadium was originally known as Columbus Crew Stadium, but was renamed in 2015. The stadium replaced Ohio Stadium as the home of Crew Soccer and provides a much more intimate and authentic soccer experience than at the larger Ohio Stadium. Mapfre Stadium can seat just over 20,000 fans for soccer games and is consistently filled to the brim with Crew gold and black.

The most notable rivalry for the Columbus Crew is with the Chicago Fire. The Crew and Fire are both among the oldest franchises in MLS and have played numerous times over the years. Columbus and Chicago are only about 6 hours apart, making it the closest regional rivalry in the MLS for both clubs, and allows for fans to interact and travel to home games. This familiarity has bred one of the most passionate rivalries in MLS.

Gates usually open 1 ½ hours prior to the start of the game at Mapfre Stadium.
Where is the best place to park at Mapfre Stadium?
The best place to find parking is immmidiately to the south of Mapfre Stadium. On the south side of Black & Gold Boulevard and running all the way to 17th avenue, sits the general parking lots. This area is usually the cheapest parking option near the stadium and offers the best chance to find a good spot. If you are willing to pay a little bit more, on the east sside of the stadium is B Lot, is slightly closer to Mapfre Stadium, but is more expensive for most events.
Does my kid need a ticket to the game?
Kids 2 years of age and under are permitted to enter Mapfre Stadium without a ticket, but must sit on a parent or guardians lap during the game.
