2015 MyAFibStory.com 400 Preview
This is the first race in the 10-race Chase series, the 27th race on the Sprint Cup series. The track is notorious for close finishes for all classes, and six of the last eight races at this track have ended with a margin of victory less than one second for NASCAR. The weekend begins with qualifying for all classes battling for the coveted pole position in their prospective races. Pre-race activities include pit and infield tours, concerts and tailgating!
In 2013, controversy surrounded the start of the race with a match-fixing scandal that had two teams on probation and Jeff Gordon’s team receiving special permission to enter the Chase series. After two rain delays of over 6 hours, Matt Kenseth with the Joe Gibbs Racing team won the race by completing all 267 laps in 3:10:56 at an average speed of 125.8 MPH and winning $334,891.
