Charlotte Bobcats Ticket Information

The Charlotte Bobcats are the NBA’s newest franchise, joining the league for the 2004-2005 season. The Bobcats’ arrival in Charlotte marked a return to the city for professional basketball after the Hornets left for New Orleans in 2002. To begin the franchise on the right foot, the Bobcats make UConn center Emeka Okafor the second overall pick in the 2004 NBA Draft, going one pick after the Orlando Magic snapped up Dwight Howard. Okafor and the Bobcats struggled through their first season, winning just 18 games. With the addition of point guard Raymond Felton from North Carolina and the emergence of forward Gerald Wallace, the Bobcats won 33 games their third season in the NBA. The 2009-2010 season is still the best in Bobcats history. Wallace and guard Stephen Jackson combined for 39.3 points per game as Charlotte made its first NBA playoff appearance. Dwight Howard and the Orlando Magic would sweep the Bobcats out of the first round, but it remains the franchise’s best season. A new franchise, Charlotte has yet to retire any player’s number. 2014 Bobcats Season Preview

They may be the Hornets within a year or two, but for now fans will hope that the addition of Al Jefferson and #4 draft pick Cody Zeller is enough to start turning this team around. Two years ago Charlotte won just seven games, but improved to 21 in 2012-13. Michael Kidd-Gilchrist will need to improve off his first season, while Ben Gordon will once again be looked upon to score from the outside consistently while the new big men get acclimated to the system.

The Bobcats will open the season at home when the Cavaliers visit Time Warner Cable Arena on Nov. 1. They’ll then immediately hit the road for against in New Orleans and New York. Other key home games will be vs. the Lakers on Dec. 14, vs. Oklahoma City on Dec. 27, and vs. Lebron and the Heat on Jan. 18.

Charlotte Bobcats Rivals

Bobcats vs. Lakers

The Bobcats have struggled through their history while the Lakers have been one of the more successful franchises in all of sports. However, when these two teams meet, the Bobcats usually come out on the winning end. The teams may be on separate coasts, but Charlotte always gives Los Angeles everything they can handle in the games they play.

Bobcats vs. Pelicans

With the Pelicans once playing in Charlotte, it is only natural for these two teams to be rivals. The Bobcats were created two years after the move and a rivalry was immediately born between the two franchises. The Bobcats and Pelicans have struggled on the court over the years, but the games are still intense as the Charlotte fans have not forgiven the Pelicans for relocating.

Bobcats in the NBA Finals, Eastern Conference Championships and the NBA Playoffs

The Bobcats are still looking for the consistency needed to be considered one of the more successful franchises in the NBA. Charlotte joined the NBA in 2004 and they have only made the playoffs once over the years. With a young team, the Bobcats are hopeful that their success on the court will start to turn around.

Charlotte Bobcats Event Guide

What time do gates open prior to tipoff at a Bobcats game?

Doors typically open 60 to 90 minutes before game-time and we advise you to be there early to skip the crowds and to ensure that you find your seat before the game starts.

Where are good places to eat before a Bobcats game?

If you are in North Carolina you have to try the southern comfort food. Mert’s Heart and Soul, The King’s Kitchen, and Simmons Soul Food are three of the best in Charlotte. If you are a barbeque fan, don’t miss out on visiting Queen City Q. For an unforgettable dining experience, try McNinch House. It is located in a turn of the century Victorian home and has an unbelievably albeit expensive menu that is perfect for those looking to make dinner a special occasion. For more down to earth dining, try Fuel Pizza, Green’s Lunch, or Halcyon Flavors of the Earth.

Where is the best place to park at Charlotte Bobcats Arena?

The area around the arena is full of parking options and it is usually pretty easy to find a spot. For shorter walks we recommend looking on the east and southeast corners of the arena, as that is where three of the largest lots are located. If you are looking to save a little money and don’t mind walking, try looking on N Church Street, as there are a few good options in that area and only about a 15 minute walk to the arena.

Does my child need a ticket to go to a Bobcats game?

Children 2 years old and older are required to have a ticket to enter Charlotte Bobcats Arena. If your child is under 2 years old they will be allowed to sit on your lap for the duration of the game. To ensure that they are allowed to enter the arena, don’t forget to bring proof of his/her age.

RoundBallRoadtrip.com at Time Warner Cable Arena Time Warner Cable Arena is an awesome venue in which to watch some NBA Basketball. As part of my Roundball RoadTrip, my journey to take in a game at every NBA Arena in the League, I headed down to Charlotte, North Carolina to check out the Charlotte Bobcats in their home arena. Built in 2005 after the return of pro basketball to the area, Time Warner Cable Arena is a modern facility with expanded concourses, great sight lines to the action down on the courts, and an unreal amount of luxury level seating. But what sets the Time Warner Cable Arena experience apart from the rest, is their "Rock the RoofTop" indoor tailgating area. Nestled into the Uptown Concourse located behind Section 217, Time Warner Cable Arena has created a common area for socializing that appeals to both adults and kids. Kids will find practice basketball courts, basketball shooting games and Xbox stations, while parents have access to tailgating concessions and a full bar, flanked with open tabletops that are situated around the concourse. A Live DJ is also on hand playing your favorite music before and after the game and access to this area is free to the public. It’s clear that the staff Time Warner Cable Arena has set out to create the ultimate NBA experience for its fans and with the Bobcats steadily improving, NBA fans in Charlotte can expect to see an NBA powerhouse in the near future. Bobcats Game A friend and I just recently went to a Bobcats game! Time Warner Arena is an excellent venue. The people were nice and helpful AND our seats were great! April 6, 2014
Bobcats vs Grizzlies My Dad and I attended the Charlotte Bobcats vs Memphis Grizzlies game on Saturday, November 17th, 2012. It was fun. Time Warner Cable Arena is a great place to watch a game. Good atmosphere. I am a Grizzlies fan and wasn't bothered at all by the Bobcats fan base in attendance. There isn't a bad seat in the Arena. The prices were low. TicketCity has good deals, promotions, etc and the fees aren't as high as other sites. January 25, 2013
