Chicago Bulls Ticket Information

The Bulls joined the NBA as an expansion team in the 1966-67 season. Chicago wasted no time making the playoffs, becoming one of the most successful expansion franchises in NBA history in making the playoffs eight of their first nine seasons. Led by Jerry Sloan, the early Chicago teams were known for their stingy defense, helping the team reach the playoffs time and again. After a fast start, the Bulls struggled for a number of years before 1984. With the third pick in that draft, the Chicago Bulls’ trajectory would forever be changed, as the team selected a 6-foot-6 guard out of North Carolina. Michael Jordan immediately established himself as the Bull’s best player, leading the team in scoring, rebounding, assists and steals as a rookie. To help their star, the Bulls built up a supporting cast almost as great as Jordan himself, including the likes of Scottie Pippen, Horace Grant and Bill Cartwright. The missing piece was finally in place when Phil Jackson was named the team’s new head coach. Jackson and Jordan teamed up to win the franchise’s only six championships in an eight-season span from 1990-91 to 1997-98. Chicago has retired four numbers and honored two other coaches and general managers in the team’s history. Score with TicketCity - the place to go for Chicago Bulls basketball tickets.

2014 Bulls Season Preview

The Bulls will once again have one of the best defenses in the league, but it’s the return of superstar point guard Derrick Rose that everyone is waiting for. Coach Tom Thibodeau will have a healthy Rose, Luol Deng, Joaquim Noah and Carlos Boozer to help spearhead an attack on Miami as kings of the Eastern Conference. The Bulls also added Mike Dunleavy in the offeseason, while they lost Daequan Cook, Richard Hamilton and Nate Robinson.

The Bulls begin their season on Nov. 2 in Philadelphia, and will visit Indiana before their home opener on Nov. 8 against the Utah Jazz. Other key home games will be vs. the defending champion Miami Heat on Dec. 5, vs. the high-flying L.A. Clippers on Jan. 24 and vs. the re-tooled Brooklyn Nets on Feb 13.

Chicago Bulls Rivals

Bulls vs Pistons

Noted as one of the most intense rivalries in the history of the NBA, this matchup peaked in the last 1980s when Michael Jordan elevated himself as one of the best players in the league and the Detroit Pistons became title contenders. These two teams met in the playoffs four times in the row from 1988-1991 with the Pistons taking the first three series until the Bulls finally got over the hump against “The Bad Boys” en route to their first NBA title.

Bulls vs. Knicks

These two teams have met every season since 1966 and became one of the top rivalries in the league in the late 1980s when both teams were fighting for supremacy in the Eastern Conference. This matchup saw icons like Michael Jordan, Scottie Pippen and Patrick Ewing grace the court. After a stretch of both franchises struggling, the rivalry has had a revival in recent seasons as the teams have improved.

These two teams met in the playoffs on a consistent basis during the 1990s, but the rivalry has started to peak in recent seasons as games are often physical and at times have led to ejections. Trash-talks is always a factor when these two teams meet and has extended to the head coaches. With both teams fighting in the Eastern Conference, this rivalry will only continue to get better.

Bulls vs. Bucks

This rivalry extends to the other professional sports because of the close proximity between the two cities. These two teams first met in 1968 and have met often times in the playoffs throughout the series. Both teams were frequent playoff contenders in the late 1980s and early 1990s which saw the rivalry peak, but it has revived in recent years highlighted by the two teams featuring young and upcoming stars.

Gaining most of it's competitive nature from the '90s, Michael Jordan and Reggie Miller fueled the Bulls Pacers rivalry for many years. The two teams became regular playoff contending teams bringing basketball fans one of the most memorable Conference Finals 7-game series in 1998. Recently the rivalry between Chicago and Indiana has been revitalized with the emergence of Derrick Rose and Paul George as front runners of the opposing teams.

Bulls in the NBA Finals, Eastern Conference Championship and NBA Playoffs

The Bulls ruled the NBA world in the late 1980s and throughout the 1990s headlined by icon Michael Jordan. With a pair of 3-peats during the 90s, the Bulls have established themselves as one of the premier franchises. The Bulls have also added 5+ conference titles and won over 8 division titles over the years that will only increase in the years to come.

When you think Chicago you think deep-dish pizza. There are a few great pizza places near UC, we recommend checking out Pequod’s Pizzaria, Macello, or Homeslice. Awesome What an awesome time. Sat three rows behind tunnel where Bulls go in and out. Not sure if theres a bad seat. It was total excitement from the start and they played the Heat! Ended up winning in overtime to a packed house. Only way could have been better is if Rose would have been playing. March 12, 2014

A must go! Everyone should go to a Bulls game at least once in their lifetime. Once the music plays for the starting lineup, you get chills up and down your spine. It is definitely well worth it and you'll have an unbelievable time. February 24, 2012
Roundball RoadTrip - Chicago Bulls As part of my Roundball RoadTrip I took in a Chicago Bulls game at the United Center in Chicago, Illinois in January of 2011. The “Madhouse on Madison” is an incredible place to watch some NBA Basketball. As you walk up to Gate 2, a twelve foot tall statue of Michael Jordan about to unleash one of his signature dunks is stands at the door. Along with paying homage to the greatest NBA player that ever lived, it also makes for a great photo opportunity. The arena itself is impressive, as you walk into the seating area your attention is immediately turned to the six NBA championship banners that hang in the rafters as a reminder of those great Chicago Bulls dynasties of the 1990’s. I was also impressed by the quality and variety of concessions available at the United Center. Freshly prepared shrimp po' boy sandwiches, carved turkey and smoke beef brisket sandwiches and Chicago-style deep dish pizza along with a wide array of other options await you at United Center concession stands. One thing I was warned about by several locals is that the area around the United Center is not the safest area in the city. However, I noticed before and after the game that lots of Bulls fans flocked to the nearby pubs and taverns to hang out. I also noticed a strong Police presence in the area on game day as well. My advice is to be aware of your surroundings if you're planning to hang out. Madison Street, which runs along the United Center, has lots of great bars and restaurants for pre and post game entertainment, but to check out a local Chicago legend, you’ll want to grab a "cheezborger" at the Billy Goat Tavern. The Billy Goat Tavern is famous for two reasons. Back in the 1970’s John Belushi did a skit on Saturday Night Live based on its cook staff, but much earlier than that, in the 1940’s, it was the owner of the Billy Goat Tavern, William “Billy Goat" Sianis that placed a curse on the Chicago Cubs because they wouldn’t allow him to take his goat into Wrigley Field. For more information on what to see and do in the city of Chicago and about the Legend of "The Billy Goat Curse”, check out my review at http://www.nbabasketballarenas.com/United-Center-Jan11.htm.
