The Denver Nuggets began playing professional basketball as the Denver Rockets of the ABA. In the ABA the franchise mostly experienced strong seasons, reaching the finals in the last season before the merger between the ABA and NBA. The Nuggets had immediate success upon joining the NBA, making the playoffs their first three seasons in the Association and 12 times in their first 14 seasons. Through the 1990s Denver struggled mightily, making the playoffs just twice in the decade. The Nuggets didn’t return to the NBA spotlight again until Denver selected Syracuse small forward Carmelo Anthony with the third overall pick in the 2003 NBA Draft. Since Anthony’s arrival in Denver for the 2003-04 season the Nuggets have yet to miss the playoffs. Though always a part of postseason play, Denver has only made it past the first round of the playoffs once—reaching the Western Conference Finals in 2009. Despite Anthony leaving Denver for New York, the Nuggets still have continued their frequent postseason presence. Denver has retired the numbers of five players throughout the team’s long history. 2014 Nuggets Season Preview
The Nuggets, sporting a 57-win regular season and a #3 seed in the Western Conference playoffs, looked to be one of the toughest squads to knock out of the postseason. However, a 4-2 loss to Golden State in the first round saw the end of the season and the firing of NBA Coach of the Year George Karl. Corey Brewer and Andre Iguodala also left town in free agency. The Nuggets have added Randy Foye, Darrell Arthur and Nate Robinson to help with the transition to new coach Brian Shaw for the 2013-14 season.
The Nuggets look poised to continue scoring lots of points behind PG Ty Lawson and top rebounder Kenneth Faried. JaVale McGee will start at center, and the high-flying big man will have his opportunity to make a big impression on Shaw early on. The Nuggets have had a lot of turnover, but this team has been retooled for another run at the playoffs.

Nuggets vs. Lakers
As Western Conference foes, these two teams don't get along at all. With over 150 regular season matchups, there is not much love lost between the franchises. The two teams have met constantly in the playoffs over the years, and it intensified when the Nuggets and Lakers met in the 2009 Western Conference Finals.
Nuggets vs. Jazz
As regional rivals and with over 170 regular season matchups and another 20+ playoff meetings, these two teams continue to comprise one of the better rivalries in the NBA. The rivalry was at its peak in the mid-1980s when they met in back-to-back seasons in the playoffs. As both teams play in the Western Conference, this rivalry has showed no signs of slowing down.
Nuggets vs. Spurs
This rivalry dates back to their ABA days and they have played against each other more times than they have any other opponent with over 260 games. The Spurs and Nuggets have met in the playoffs many times, making the rivalry reach a fever pitch. The matchup will only continue to get better in the upcoming seasons as they build off a history that started in the late 1960s.
Nuggets in the NBA Finals, Western Conference Championships and NBA Playoffs
The Nuggets continue to look for their first NBA and Western Conference Championship, but they have won over 6 division titles since they joined the NBA in 1976. Denver has been very successful over the last decade as they have become consistent division contenders and playoff performers.

Doors open to the general public 1 hour before tipoff. The Nuggets have one of the most passionate fan bases and many fans brave the cold to tailgate outside before the game.
Where are good places to eat before a Nuggets game?
Right next door to the Pepsi Center is Brooklyn’s. The ability to seat around 500 people, large TV’s and a traditional menu make Brooklyn’s a convenient and fun way to spend pre-game with tons of other Nuggets fans. If you are looking for a place with a little historic flare, check out the pizza and burgers at Wazee Supper Club. For some of the best southwest food anywhere check out Tomayo. It is also smoke free and vegetarian friendly, making it perfect for families. Zengo, Tag, and ChoLon are all great Asian fusion places that will not disappoint. If you are looking to try something new, check out Mario’s Double Daughter’s Salotto or Euclid Hall Bar & Kitchen.
Where is the best place to park at Pepsi Center?
The Pepsi Center is conveniently located next to Six Flags Elitch Gardens and the Auraria Campus, giving the area plenty of parking options. Getting to the center early and purchasing a parking pass allows you to park in the most convenient lots. If you are not afraid of a short walk, try looking in the 7th St. and Auraria Pkwy area, as there are multiple parking garages in that direction. The Regional Metropolitan District is the public transportation option to and from the game. The bus and light rail lets off within a couple blocks of Pepsi Center and helps you avoid the hassle of parking and driving.

All children over the age of 3 will need a ticket to enter the Pepsi Center. Children under 3 years old may sit in their parents lap for the duration of the game. We recommend bringing proof of your child’s age to the gate to ensure they are allowed to enter.
Denver Nuggets 2 2
Denver Nuggets Adventure TicketCity once again came though with flying colors by getting my wife and I "Club Seats" for the Denver Nuggets vs. the L.A. Clippers (w/Blake Griffin & Chris Paul). We had lived in Denver previously, but hadn't been to the Pepsi Center which is one of the nicer arenas we've been to. The atmosphere was electric and we saw a great game that turned into a real thriller. We would highly recommend using TicketCity and a trip to Denver to see the Pepsi Center. TicketCity has also gotten us great seats for the Broncos, the Rockies and even Air Force football. TicketCity is the best and we're looking forward to using them again for our next trip. Thanks TicketCity for helping us make some fond memories on our recent Denver adventure. March 26, 2012
