The Detroit Pistons, widely considered one of the most successful franchises in the history of the NBA, have made 32 playoff appearances over the course of their history. The team also won three NBA championships in 1989, 1990 and 2004, as well as nine division championships to the delight of the Motor City crowd.
Perhaps the Pistons' hottest streak started when the team hired Hall of Fame coach Chuck Daly in 1983. Under his watch, the squad cruised to three division titles and won two NBA titles over the course of nine short years.
The Pistons returned to the Promised Land in 2004 when they shocked the country by defeating the Los Angeles Lakers in five games for the championship win. The franchise followed this with a consecutive trip to the NBA Finals in 2005, but fell to the juggernaut San Antonio Spurs in an enthralling Game 7 finish.
Still, there's no denying how much of an impact Pistons have made in the paint during the postseason. Aside from sending 19 players and coaches to the Hall of Fame, some of the best postseason performers in league history have worn the red, white and blue with pride, including stars such as Isiah Thomas, Dave Bing, Walt Bellamy, Bob Lanier and Bob McAdoo.
