Golden State Warriors Tickets Information

The Golden State Warriors can trace their history back to the inaugural season of the NBA, back when they were the Philadelphia Warriors. Philadelphia was a playoff team in each of the first three seasons of the NBA, but then missed the playoffs for three straight years. The Warriors returned to the playoffs in a big way in 1956, winning the NBA championship behind future Hall-of-Famer Paul Arizin. The Warriors were in the playoffs more often than not over the remainder of the 1950s, 1960s, and most of the 1970s. The team made the NBA Finals twice in the ‘60s, but wouldn’t win its second NBA championship until 1975, when a team led by Rick Barry swept the Washington Bullets in the finals. Since the 1980s started things have been difficult for the Warriors. Over the last three and a half decades, Golden State has just seven playoff appearances, never more than two seasons in a row, and never advancing past the Western Conference Semifinals. Today the Warriors look ready to buck the recent losing trend thanks to the emergence of point guard Stephen Curry. Golden State has retired the numbers of five players in franchise history. 2015 Warriors Season Preview

Possibly no team was as excited about the 2013-14 NBA season as the Golden State Warriors. Following their first playoff appearance since 2007, the Warriors added star Andre Iguodala to provide a 1-2 punch with superstar Stephen Curry. The Warriors lived up to their hype, recording the 5th 50 win season in the history of the franchise and played one of the most exciting 7 game playoff series in recent memory.

Coming into the 2014-15 season, the Golden State Warriors have made some significant changes to their roster to try and take that next step in the Western Conference. Gone from Golden State are Steve Blake, Jermaine O’Neal, and Jordan Crawford. Replacing them will be Shaun Livingston and Leandro Barbosa. Also new for the Warriors is the additions of Steve Kerr as the head coach at Golden State. Kerr inherits an extremely talented and eager Golden State Warriors roster and will hopefully make the right tweaks to put them over the top.

Golden State Warriors Rivals

Warriors vs. Lakers

As one of the oldest match-ups in NBA history, the Warriors and the Lakers have played over 430 total games throughout their history that includes over 30 postseason games. The highlight of the playoff series came when the two teams met in the 1968 and 1973 Western Conference Finals. This rivalry has been revitalized in recent seasons with the Warriors young talent starting to come to fruition.

Warriors vs. Kings

As regional rivals, it is only natural for the games between the Warriors and the Kings to be hostile and intense. With both teams playing in their current city, Golden State and Sacramento have met over 120 times. The close-proximity of both franchises has led the fan bases to not get along and this rivalry will only increase as both teams continue to improve on the basketball court.

Warriors vs. Mavericks

The Warriors and the Mavericks have played over 135 regular season games throughout the years with the highlight of this rivalry coming in 2007 when Golden State knocked out Dallas in the first round of the Western Conference Playoffs. With star Dirk Nowitzki with the Mavericks and budding star Stephen Curry with the Warriors, the rivalry will only get better.

Warriors in the NBA Finals, Western Conference Championships and NBA Playoffs

The Warriors have won multiple NBA championships to go along with their 3+ Western Conference titles. Golden State also won back-to-back division titles in the mid-1970s. The Warriors have had legends such as Wilt Chamberlain and Chris Mullin play for the organization over the years that made Golden State one of the more successful franchises in the league.

Golden State Warriors Event Guide

What time do gates open prior to tipoff at a Warriors game?

Gates at Oracle Arena open to the general public 90 minutes before game-time.

Where are good places to eat before a Warriors game?

If you are looking for pizza, Red Boy Pizza, and Zachary’s Chicago Pizza are both extremely good and close by. For some great comfort food try Home of Chicken and Waffles, or The Fat Lady. Oakland has some great Asian fusion food. Of the many good places nearby, Le Cheval, Dragon Rouge, and Han Dae Gam are three of the best. If you are a barbeque fanatic check out Khanh Huong for Chinese barbeque or Everett & Jones Barbeque for traditional American barbeque. For great burgers try Nation’s Giant Hamburger & Great Pies, and of course there is always In-N-Out Burger.

Where is the best place to park at Oracle Arena?

Parking at Oracle Arena is pretty straightforward. There are two large lots on the north side, and two large lots on the south side of the arena. These lots are shared with the larger Coliseum and there are generally enough spots for all the fans entering the arena. It is still advised that you get there early and purchasing a parking pass is the easiest way to go. General parking usually runs about $18.

Does my child need a ticket to go to a Warriors game?

If your child is 24 months old or older they will be required to have a ticket to enter Oracle Arena. All children younger than 24 months will be allowed to sit on a parents lap for the duration of the game and it is best to have proof of their age with you to avoid any hassles at the door.
